Video: Brazil Overtakes UK to Become World's 6th Largest Economy
Brazil has overtaken the United Kingdom to become the world’s 6th largest economy according to reports from the Centre for Economics and Business Research.

The resource rich South American country economic performance was given a boost as a result of its exports to China. Brazil is one of the few countries that has been unaffected by the financial crisis sweeping across the globe and has affected the UK and the rest of the Eurozone.

Dutch Magazine Jackie – Calls Rihanna N—A B—H

    0

    A Dutch magazine, known as “Jackie” recently described Rihanna as a n—a b—h. According to the article written by the editor, Eva Hoeke, Rihanna was described as follows;

Dutch Magazine Jackie - Calls Rihanna N—A B—H
    Rihanna Called N—A B—H

“N—A B—H. She has street cred, she has a ghetto ass and she has a golden throat. Rihanna, the good girl gone bad, is the ultimate n—a b—h and displays that gladly, and for her that means: what’s on can come off. If that means she’ll be on stage half naked, then so be it. But Dutch winters aren’t like Jamaican ones, so pick a clothing style in which your daughter can resist minus ten. No to the big sunglasses and the pornheels, and yes to the tiger print, pink shizzle and everything that glitters. Now let’s hope she won’t beat anybody up at daycare.”

It’s difficult to tell if the magazine was making an effort to be funny but Rihanna definitely wasn’t laughing at the whole episode. She caught wind of the magazine’s choice of words and she (of course) took to Twitter to give Eva Hoeke, the editor-in-chief of the mag, a piece of her mind.
“@evajackie I hope u can read English, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!! You ran out of legit, civilized information to print! There are 1000′s of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That’s your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders to act in the past!

“You put two words together, with the intent of abasement that made no sense…”N—A B—H”?!….Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you…F–K YOU!!!”
Before getting her ass handed to her on twitter by Rihanna, Eva had already tweeted an apology in Dutch. She wrote:

[Translated] “Two things we learned. 1: no bad jokes in the cover page. 2. do not act as if a bad joke is good. Sorry, guys. My bad.”

In the next issue will be a correction. I can tell you that it was never our intention to offend anyone.

She also posted on her facebook:

    Dear Readers,
First: thanks for all your responses. I can be brief about this: this should never have happened. End of story. The corresponding author may have had no evil intent – the headline of the article was intended as a joke – but it was a bad joke, to say the least. And that’s me, the editor, then slipped through the fingers. Stupid, and f-cking painful for all concerned. The author has been called to account. I hope that you believe that there is absolutely no racist motive to the wording underlay. It was stupid, you hear it all the time on TV and radio, then your idea of what is normal apparently shifts – but it was especially misguided: there was no malice behind it.’

We make our magazine with love, energy and enthusiasm, and it can sometimes happen that someone shoots off the road. And then you can only do one thing: apologize. And hope that others accept. From the bottom of my heart I say it again: it is never our intention for this to hurt anyone. And I mean that.
Eva has yet to respond to Rihanna personally nor did she apologize directly to Rihanna in her statement posted on facebook. How in the heck did she think that calling someone a ‘ngga btch’ was going to be taken as a joke? Out of pocket.

According to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), a 38-year old South African woman, Nene Fikil has been arrested for allegedly trafficking drugs.

The spokesman for the anti-drug agency Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the suspect was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on Dec. 17.

According to him, the suspect was trying to board an Emirates plane when she developed stomach pain that prompted her to call for medical assistance.

“She gave herself up when she suddenly held her stomach in pain at the departure hall.

“She was to go through screening when suddenly she held her stomach and beckoned on security officials, demanding to see a doctor.

“Immediately, she was taken for scan which confirmed positive for narcotics ingestion.

“Under observation, she excreted 55 wraps of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing 700 grammes; preliminary investigation revealed that she travelled to Malaysia from South Africa.

He said that a doctor was invited to assist the suspect overcome the situational reaction to drug ingestion in order to save her .

According to Ofoyeju, the suspect, in her confessional statement, claimed to be a single mother who wanted to make life better for her 19-year old daughter.

“My desire to give my only child the best education made me to engage in drug trafficking; this is my first time and I was scared of death.

“I reported myself when I was feeling acute pain in my stomach,” the NDLEA spokesman quoted the suspect as saying.

He said, the South African Embassy in Nigeria had been contacted, while some officials had visited her.

Ofoyeju said that investigation would also be carried out under the aegis of the West Africa Joint Operations, an umbrella body of anti-drug agencies in the West African sub-region since she got the drugs in Cotonou.

Company Sues Former Employee $340,000 for 17,000 Twitter Followers He Kept After leaving

Twitter followers are expensive as a company is suing its former employee for keeping the followers he maintained on his professional account after leaving them.

Noah Kravitz left PhoneDog in October 2010 on good terms. Now the company is suing him for $340,000 for the 17,000 followers he kept after he quit the position. The followers have been valued at $2.50 per month over a period of eight months.

Kravitz told the New York Times that PhoneDog told him he could keep his followers, as long as he continued to Tweet about the company. But it looks like that alleged gentleman’s agreement is now putting him in trouble as he’s now in a legal battle with his former employee over the Twitter followers.
