OMG, what was going on here? President Barack Obama and Arizona governor Jan Brewer were taken this snap in which it looked like the duo were in a heated argument. In the hilarious photo, the Arizona Governor’s appearance and the way she was raising her finger to Obama’s face look like someone who was seriously warning the American President not to do something. At the moment, a total of four prominent Kenyans, including Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, will go to trial at the International Criminal Court over their alleged roles orchestrating the country’s post-election violence four years ago, judges ruled.
Everyone of them faces charges including being indirectly responsible for murder, rape, forcible displacement of civilians and crimes against humanity that prosecutors said were committed during weeks of clashes that killed 1,300 people.
The highest profile of the four men are Uhuru Kenyatta, the country’s finance minister and deputy prime minister, and William Ruto, the former higher education minister.
Both have said that they plan to run for president in Kenya’s next elections, due by March next year.
Mr Ruto immediately said that he was still in the running despite the International Criminal Court’s ruling, delivered in The Hague on Monday.
Mr Kenyatta has indicated he will also still stand.
“This is the problem we face, they will use the stand at The Hague to campaign and gather support,” said Josphat Makundi, a pharmacist in Nakuru, a town in Kenya’s Rift Valley two hours west of Nairobi which saw some of the worst of the 2007-8 violence.
Both Mr Kenyatta – from Kenya’s dominant Kikuyu tribe – and Mr Ruto – a Kalenjin – enjoy significant support from rural Kenyans living in each of their political heartlands.
There were concerns that the ICC’s ruling would provoke demonstrations protesting against the charges.
“We Kenyans cannot be fighting about this, it is no surprise to most of us truly in our hearts,” said Steven Gichaba, a civil servant watching the hearings in a Nakuru pub at lunchtime yesterday.
“All that has happened today is the judges have confirmed what we already knew, that there is hard evidence, and these men have a case to answer.” Luis Moreno-Ocampo, the ICC’s chief prosecutor, had originally charged six men, but the three-judge panel ruled that there was not enough evidence to confirm charges against Hussein Ali, the former police chief, and Henry Kosgey, a junior minister.

An eight year old child has become the victim of a racist attack in Dundonald in east Belfast.
Charles Awoyelu
Promise Awoyelu, was asleep when she was injured in the racist brick violence in Dundonald in east Belfast.
On Saturday at around 05:30 GMT, she was smashed on her head by a brick thrown through her bedroom window at Brooklands Drive. As much as two more windows in the house were crushed in the brick attack.
As luck would have it, the wounds she sustained have not been identified as life threatening.
This was the second in a week that the house was attacked. The windscreen of a car was also smashed and two windows were shattered last Sunday.
Living in Northern Ireland for seven years now, her father Charles Awoyelu dubbed the attack as “shocking”.
Quoting the police, he said it was racially inspired.
According to him, “I don’t know what would motivate somebody to target us. We are here to make a living and we are a peace-loving family. I have five children who are terrified in the house, my wife is scared and I’m scared of going to work and coming back because I don’t know what will happen when I come back.”
Disapproving the incident, Alliance East Belfast MLA Chris Lyttle said racist attacks had no place in the society.
BBC News quoted him as saying: “I am disgusted by such mindless racist views.
“This family are making a positive working contribution to our society and their children are part of local sports and community clubs.
“We are regrettably now helping the family to find suitable alternative accommodation.”
A Nigerian woman who caught a stomach bug on holiday developed a host of food intolerances so serious that they made her blind as well as temporarily paralysed.
According to Bunmi Sobowale, living in Sheffield, her food problems have affected more or less every single portion of her body at one time or another in more than 20 separate occurrences. The 30-year-old’s ailment originally bamboozled doctors, who even tried a form of chemotherapy in an effort to treat her.
It was only when she was tucking into one her favourite treats, a pepperoni pizza that she understood that food was the main part of the condition she is suffering from. Doctors then learnt that she had abruptly developed allergy to a host of foods.
Meat and fish make Ms Sobowale sick, she cannot have alcoholic drinks and bread, pasta, cakes and biscuits. This is because they make her throat to swell and cause her skin to have a burning feeling.
Milk, cheese and chocolate make her nauseous and anything sugary – except fruit – sends her straightforward to sleep.
Doctors still do not know precisely what caused her ailment. However, they think her collapse is related to a stomach bug she picked up while on holiday in Mexico in 2004.
They think her disease is a very uncommon condition known as neuromyelitis, a problem in the central nervous system that affects the optic nerves and spinal cord.
Nonetheless, neurologists at Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital are puzzled by the relationship between her nervous system and her food intolerance.
According to Ms Sobowale, ‘I had always been fit and healthy so the effect it had on my daily life was devastating. I couldn’t understand what was happening to me.
‘I lost my sight twice, for four months and again for two weeks and I was even given a form of chemotherapy to try and cure me. ‘My weight ballooned to 22 stones after having steroid treatment
‘But the only thing that has worked since I became ill was changing my diet. It means that if I go somewhere or even just get on a train I have to make sure there is somewhere I can get the right food.’
Ms Sobowale, who lives with her partner, Mark, vacated her job in the marketing department of a supermarket chain, took a course in nutrition and set up a website called foodsyoucan.com in 2009. She said: ‘I was finally diagnosed in 2006 with gluten sensitivity and a range of food intolerances comprising wheat, gluten, soya, lactose and sugar.
‘I am reminded every day how food affects my illness. Some foods aggravate the pain and eating the wrong thing can cause a relapse. I still have to see neurologists for regular check-ups.’
Nevertheless, in spite of her ordeal she said: ‘I don’t regret a single thing that has happened to me and instead see all this as a blessing that has brought me to where I am today.’

A Cameroon national who faked documents and lived illegally in Leeds for six years and falsely claimed £35,000 in benefits has been jailed for 12 months.
Louis Foudji, 34, lied to his partner about his immigration status and had three children with her before he was finally arrested.
Leeds Crown Court heard Foudji came to the UK in 2004 on a 12-month visa but managed to obtain a fake Portuguese passport under a different name. He was then able to stay as a member of the European Union.
Michele Stuart-Lofthouse, prosecuting, said Foudji then obtained a driving licence which helped him get work with five different employers. While in Leeds he met his partner and they had three children together and were able to get a council house.
Between 2007 and 2010 Foudji was able to claim £35,000 in working and child tax credits despite earning £52,500 during the same period.
Foudji’s deception was uncovered when his partner, also a Cameroon national, applied for permission to remain in the UK and submitted his fake passport as part of her application.
Immigration officials spotted the forgery and went to arrest Foudji at their family home in Moresdale Lane, Seacroft on September 25 last year.
His partner said he was not at home but officers discovered him hiding in the loft.
He pleaded guilty to seven offences of fraud, possessing a false passport, possessing a false driving licence and obtaining benefits by deception.
Michael Miller, for Foudji, said his client pleaded guilty to the offences at the earliest opportunity and it had had a devastating affect on his partner and children.
Mr Miller said she had now applied for asylum status to remain in the UK on humanitarian grounds,
Jailing him. Recorder Richard Woolfall said: “Not only have you committed fraud you have also deceived you partner.”
He faces deportation after completing his prison sentence.
The whole world was in a big shock to hear that the dream couple who renew their vows every year are splitting. Even last year, Seal and Heidi renewed their love vows once again. However, according to Seal, the couples are also shocked about the break-up because the “I do” vows they shared hold values.
According to the couples press release statement, they couples said that they have grown apart. Seal was at the Ellen DeGeneres show as well as Tavis Smiley Late Night Show. In both shows, the singer explained how he felt about the breakup. He said he would continue to wear his wedding ring because they will continue to stay connected for the rest of their lives. He added that the ring feels comfortable on his hands and do not intend to take it off any moment soon. He said wearing the ring is a token of what he feels for Heidi.
Seal said he has “a tremendous amount of love and respect” for Heidi klum and in his opinion; she is the most wonderful woman in the world.
Even with such a significant moment event in his life, Seal is focused on his project and has started a promotional tour for his new album. He thinks deciding to separate does not stop one from loving the other or from being friends.
He said they still have much love for each other and their greatest priority is to remain civil and carry out their divorce with dignity.

ASYLUM seekers and other immigrants are pocketing compensation cheques the size of lottery wins by suing the Agency.
A staggering £5.2million has been shared out among the top 60 claimants over the past three years.
Last year alone the UKBA paid £14.2million in compensation, ex-gratia payments and legal fees.
One refugee got £170,000 while two others had £150,000 each. In 2009, one was awarded £200,000.
Over the three years, 20 claims were settled for more than £100,000 for incidents such as being detained too long or being hurt in custody.
In some cases the money is given to failed asylum seekers after they have left Britain.
Tory MP Priti Patel, who uncovered the figures, said: “Many of those receiving compensation will be illegal immigrants who should not even be in Britain.”
Human rights laws are being used by immigrants to sabotage fast-track deportations.
Damian Green
The Morton Hall detention centre was reopened last May. Since then, just about 39 people have been deported. This was made known by the Agency officials.
Another 116 inmates left the former prison in the same period. However, the agency is unaware of the total number of those that remained in the country, those that were bailed or those that were transferred to another detention centre.
Morton Hall was supposed to speed up deportations. However, the Home Office said efforts to deport illegal settlers were being hampered by the Human Rights Act. According to the agency, detainees are using the right to a family life, enshrined in the Act, to mount legal bids to leave in Britain.
Last night, officials swore to stop the expensive appeals by reforming the system.
In the past Morton Hall was a women’s prison in Lincolnshire. It was reopened to serve as an immigration removal centre after a £6million refurbishment. Facilities available to the inmates are computer suites, a hairdressing salon, 24-hour medical care, library and a wide range of sports facilities.
It is one of 13 secure centres set up to hold external prisoners, failed asylum seekers and over stayers before being deported. It is estimated to cost taxpayers almost £17million this year, including more than £10million in running costs.
According to Priti Patel, the Tory MP who uncovered the statistics, “Illegal immigrants should be thrown out of Britain and not left to live a life of luxury at the expense of Britain’s hard-pressed taxpayers.
“The last Labour government left a horrendous mess in the immigration system and ministers in the Home Office today must change the law to remove illegal immigrants from Britain and protect taxpayers from these outrageous costs.”
When Damian Green, the immigration minister, opened the centre, he said that a “tough system of enforcement and removal is one of the cornerstones our reformed asylum system”.
However, today’s figures appear to show there is far to go before the present structure of controls is completely restructured.
Last night, a Home Office spokesman said: “Detaining and removing foreign criminals who flout the rules is vital to protecting the public and to safeguarding the economy by controlling immigration.
“It is not acceptable that foreign offenders are winning more than 60 per cent of allowed appeals to stay under the right to a family life.
“We will shortly be changing the immigration rules to reflect the public interest in seeing the removal from the UK of those who should be removed.”
Separate statistics available yesterday made clear the full cost of “bribing” illegal immigrants to leave Britain.
Over £24.4million has been released to about 20,000 illegal immigrants and foreign prisoners who agreed to leave the UK under the Facilitated Return Scheme.
Between October 2006 and 2010 the scheme cost just under half that amount but after a massive expansion the bill rocketed last year to £13million.
