A Day With The Big Girls: Loving Your Curves Plus Size Event
Loving Your Curves is one of the first events in the UK to completely focus on the plus size woman. From bridal designers to curvy models, event organisers, beauticians and much more. It was an event to celebrate plus size clothing and designs, see some of the designers influencing fashion for the curvy woman and setting the fashion trends for this sector that was once ignored.

The event that took place on September 21st and 22nd at Hotel Verta in London was put together by Kemi Farquharson, the CEO and creative director of Kemiboutique. The place was filled with so many beautiful women. And the most beautiful thing was that they were mostly curvy, confident and comfortable in their own skin.

Some of the designers that showcased their wares on the first day of the event were, KemiBoutique, SimplyBe, Lillian Mayro and Dea London.
Besides the runway show, all attendees were treated with a goody bag that contained a copy of SLINK magazine (a magazine for the plus size woman), some gorgeous earrings from EditionUniques, a shower gel from Elemis, and tea samples from Dalgety.
In addition, some of the lucky guests were able to grab some gorgeous pieces of clothing from simplyBe, while others received some nail treatment from CSG makeup. There were other ladies who were pampered to some bridal body artwork from Bridal Mehndi, while some were given eyelashes treatment by Flutter.
The event also hosted a range of activities that included a roundtable talk, tips and tricks on beauty that was presented by Chantelle Graham, the CEO of CSG Makeup. During the seminar, Chantelle paid a lot of attention to facial cleansing. She told the ladies it was very important to clean the face in the morning as well as before going to bed.
Another exhibitor that was at the Loving your Curves show was Long Feet Boutique, a brand that cater for the needs of women with longer feet. There was also Deize Events, an event-planning agency that caters for all round events organisation from decorations to staffing and many more.
When Chantelle Graham, the CEO of CSG Makeup and one of the key sponsors was asked about her experience as well as supporting the event, she said, “I would definitely love to have an opportunity to sponsor the event and would recommend it. It has been a good marketing for my business”
Talking about the event and what she like about it, Nagathe Okasha, one of the guest that attended the event said, “at the beginning, everyone sat in a room and we were all talking, I really liked that.” She also said she liked the overall concept and was also enjoying it. “I’ll come here again,” she added.

Chinese Man Has New Nose Grown On His Forehead To Replace The Original One Damaged In A Car Crash
A Chinese man has a new nose grown on his forehead to replace his original nose that was damaged when he had a car accident.
The 22 year old man, Xiaolian had the accident in 2012 and did not visit the hospital for treatment. As a result, the nose became infected and led to the corrosion of its cartilage as well as a deformed nose.
When he then went for surgical operation, his surgeons were unable to repair the damaged nose and then created a new one on his forehead. The new nose was made by placing a skin tissue expander on his forehead. The skin tissue expander was then supported with the cartilage that was taken from his rib.
His surgeons hope to take the new nose from his forehead and carry out a nose transplant surgery that will place it in the right position where the damaged nose is currently occupying.

And there is more. One of the major health reasons for drinking a lot of green tea during wintertime is its ability to reduce body fat. Since we tend to stay indoors a lot during this season, it is a very dangerous period to accumulate fat. And if you are not visiting the gym frequently, the fat can accumulate fast and make one grow out of shape or even become obese. Besides, because we tend to put on bulky clothes during wintertime, there is a danger we’ll only notice the changes in our body after piling up an immense amount of weight.
To make sure my green tea provides me with all the benefits it has to offer, I make sure I drink a minimum of 3 glasses per day.

Lip Cream
Sometimes, the winter season can be so harsh that it will end up drying your lips to the extent that it starts to peel. No one wants to have chapped lips. They can be unattractive and even painful. And for a lady, it is a no.
As a result, I always make sure I have my lip cream ready and well prepared for these harsh months. My number one lip moisturiser for this season is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm SPF 20. It’s a bit on the high side as it cost about £18.00 for a 15ml tube. I am a fan of Dove body wash product range. And I have used a variety of them. I started using Dove body wash product range since I found out they were more natural than the other soaps you can find in the normal shops. And it has been good to my skin.

Since I am not dressing up for Halloween, I prefer eyeliners that will stay where they were used and not one that will run over my face when the tears start rolling.

Rhino Rangers Star In New Al Jazeera Series – Wildlife Warzone
New Al Jazeera series Wildlife Warzone explores the only thing standing between heavily-armed poachers and the decimation of a species: rangers.
Poaching is worth $17 billion a year and is being fueled by demand in Asia, where rhino horn in particular is believed to have, unproven, medicinal properties, including the ability to cure cancer. Poaching is big business in South Africa – rhino horn is now worth more than gold.
The six-part series follows a new batch of trainee rangers as they are put through their paces over 38 days, during which time they have no access to the outside world. They are pushed to breaking point, both physically and mentally. Some will crack under the pressure. Those that don’t will emerge as highly-trained operatives capable of battling the poachers they are up against, many of whom are former soldiers.
Being a wildlife ranger is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Each night a battle rages between South Africa’s wildlife rangers and criminal gangs. As trainee ranger Chrisjan Visser says, “Being shot at is hard to describe. You see the weapon coming up and, a fraction of a second later, you hit the deck. And you close your eyes and pray.”
“There have been many programmes about the wildlife crisis in Africa,” says Al Jazeera English director of programmes Paul Eedle. “However this series takes a unique look at the issue through the eyes of trainee anti-poaching rangers. The series of 25-minute films follows the new recruits as some leave home for the first time, enter a brutal world of military training and finally head to the frontline of Africa’s Wildlife Warzone.”
Many of the trainees want to become rangers to protect their habitat. As trainee Nabiel Leon says, “There is no doubt in my mind I will love what I will be doing. It is to protect the rhinos…protecting what I love.”
For others, the course is a way out of poverty. As trainee Lunga Nyawe says, “I hope this is going to change my life. I don’t want to be stuck here and have no opportunities to go further in life.”
Vincent Barkas, the head of the training company Protrack, describes the challenges to the trainees. “You’re going to be given a semi-automatic weapon when you finish training. You are going to have 1/100th of second to decide whether you can pull the trigger or not.”
It may be a dangerous job but it’s a privilege for the trainees. As trainee Gerald Mhalanga says, “My friends from back at school, none of them have seen wildlife like I have, ever before. I love being with the wildlife.”
And there’s nothing like the gratification of finally getting your man and potentially helping save a species from extinction. “We can wait for hours and hours,” says Chrisjan. “But then you hear those footsteps coming. Suddenly you forget everything. It’s ‘go’ time. Everything happens in seconds. And then it’s over. But it’s a great feeling. You catch this guy red-handed after hours and hours of waiting.”
Wildlife Warzone is partly shot at Shamwari in the Eastern Cape, named the World’s Leading Conservation Company and Leading Safari Lodge at the 2012 World Travel Awards.
The series screens from Monday, 7 October at 22:30GMT, with additional screenings on Tuesdays at 9:30GMT, Wednesdays at 03:30GMT, and Thursdays at 16:30GMT.
