How To Select The Best Anti Aging Skin Care Products

    0

Nowadays anti aging skin care products can be found just about everywhere including drug and department stores, online retailers, and even in supermarkets. To select the best product for your skin, examine the ingredients and product claims closely when choosing an anti-wrinkle cream.

    1. Look at active ingredients. Many anti aging skin care products list peptides as an active ingredient. While peptides can be effective, many products do not use enough of the ingredient for visible improvement. Some active ingredients that may prevent or improve the appearance of facial wrinkles include retinol, coenzyme Q10, hydroxy acids, niacinamide, grape seed extract, and various tea extracts. It is best to consult with your dermatologist to see which ingredients would be most effective for your particular skin.
    2. Avoid products that make extravagant claims. Products that claim to make you look 20 years younger overnight or claim to produce instant results are usually ineffective. Check out clinical results, actual testimonials, and recommendations from friends. Beware of advertisements that disguise themselves as clinical studies or consumer product testing companies. They will usually feature their product as the number one ineffectiveness. Read the fine print and disclaimers closely to avoid misleading claims.

    1. Choose products that contain broad-spectrum sunscreens and moisturizers. Sun exposure can damage skin and create deeper wrinkles over time. Good anti-aging skin care products should protect as well as correct problems. Many ingredients that can reduce fine lines and wrinkles also dry out the skin. Combine a daily moisturizer along with any anti-wrinkle regimen.

One On One With Rough Copy’s Stylist – Naomi Harrison

At the young yet respectable age of twenty-two, Naomi Harrison has already begun to make a name for herself within the fashion industry. And she has done so in a very recognisable way. I had the opportunity to meet this young lady one on one. Naomi  is one of Rough Copy’s stylist. She is also the girlfriend of one the group member, Kazeem.

Miss Harrison has agreed to answer just a few questions to give us a sneaky insight on not only how she got into the fashion industry, but also why she has chosen that as her career path. She also talked about exactly how she feels about the negative and positive press that Rough Copy received from the public about their daring and outlandish style.

    Below is the full interview.

    Rough Copy and Gary Barlow

Thank you for sparing some of your time today Naomi, I can only imagine how busy you, your team and the XFactor team have been now that the boys are in the live shows

Naomi: It’s no problem, but erm yeah, we all have been really busy, but it’s a good busy, (laughs)

So Naomi, how did you get into the fashion industry and what is it that made you want to do so?

Naomi: Well I remember when I was younger about eight or nine, I would dress up in my mums and older cousins clothes and walk around my house as if I was on some sort of catwalk (laughs). Then when I was about eighteen, I realised that my fashion sense was a lot different from my friends. But even though it was different, it was still fashion. People would say, oh ‘ Nay you look nice ‘ or that looks different. Then before I knew it, people were asking me to help dress them, come shopping with them and what not.

What is it that you like the most about styling the group?

Naomi: Like, I love styling the boys and what I love most is just how different and out there they are with their style, and the limits in which they are willing to take their style. My vision for Rough Copy’s style is to make them look and dress like no other, but to remain in style and fashionable while doing so.

How did you become apart of their styling team?

Naomi: Well, beeen a part of them from the beginning. From when they were ‘Sons of Soul’, I would always have an input on their image and we would always attend different events. I then began to expand within the fashion industry focussing on editorial and high fashion events. With this, the guys paid a lot of interest and supported me and valued my fashion expertise. As they became ‘Rough Copy‘, I initially focused on Kaz’s image which the other boys noticed. Then soon after, I took them all on board.

Ok, so, as Kaz is your boyfriend and I know you two have been together for just over six years now, has it become awkward for you at all now that you both are mixing business with pleasure?

Naomi: Erm no it hasn’t. I’m a very professional person whilst doing my craft. And with Kaz doing his love and his craft, we both understand and support one another.

Do you do anything else that has to do with fashion apart from styling Rough Copy?

Naomi: Yeah, I mean fashion is my life. I currently work for a company called ‘COS’ where I am the commercial floor manager. And I am also an image consultant.

And my last question for you, would be, where exactly do you see your fashion career taking you or rather where would you like it to take you?

Naomi: Arrr that’s a good one! Well, I definitely see myself and would hope to not only style for other mainstream artist, but to also get to know more about designing. I would absolutely love to be able to just buy a sewing kit and some pieces of exquisite fabric and just make my clients a fabulous outfit. That way, I would not only have styled my clients, but I would have actually made my clients attire.

Wow! That sound amazing. Alright, well thank you again Naomi, I very much appreciate your time and I wish you and Rough Copy all the best in the near future.

Rough By Name But Not By Nature: UK XFactor’s Rough Copy

Rough Copy! Rough Copy! Rough Copy! The crowd cheers for Kazeem Ajobe (Kaz), Sterling Ramsay and Joseph Thomas (Joey/Joe) who are presently XFactor’s Gary Barlow’s acts. After their first live shows performance last Saturday, where they sang the classic Phil Collins ‘In The Air Tonight.’ With that performance, Rough Copy has certainly set the bar high for the rest of the remaining acts. After doing so, they were described as one of, if not the best group that has ever been seen on XFactor. But the trio’s journey has been far from smooth; it has actually been a bit rough.

One Direction’s “Little Things” was the song that Rough Copy decided to sing at their audition that took place at the arena earlier on this year. And what a great decision it was. The trio described themselves as brothers who share a house together and are “sweet but street” to the judges. And this was illustrated by the trio putting their own style of harmonies and attitude into their entire performance of ‘Little Things’.

An invitation to the judge’s houses was exactly what Rough Copy was wishing for, again. Last year, the groups XFactor experience came to an abrupt ending when the boys were axed from the show as Kazeem was unable to travel abroad to the judges houses due to his UK visa issues. A year later, and Rough Copy found themselves in the same situation yet again. But this time around, the XFactor team informed them they would be able to continue on to the second part of the competition where the decision would be made if they would be put through to the final stage that would be the judges’ houses. But it will only be possible as a duo, as Kazeem could not obtain a USA visa to attend judges’ houses in New York. The trio was in a sticky situation, was this the end of the road for the talented Rough Copy?

The trio agreed to go ahead as a duo with Kaz saying, “I put the group together, and I have to think of their careers as well as mine”. After making such a decision, an emotional teary-eyed Kaz stood in the wings of the X factor stage watching Sterling and Joe continue the auditions – resulting in their acceptance into the judges’ house.

After a mind blowing performance at Gary Barlow’s house (their mentor), Sterling and Joe sailed their way into live shows and returned home to inform family, friends and Kaz the bittersweet news. Shortly, the duo was whisked off to the house where they will reside until they get booted off or even win the XFactor.

While he was on his way to tell Kazeem the good about his group, Gary said, “I am on my way to see Kazeem from Rough Copy. At boot camp, he had to leave the band because of a visa issue but today I have some great news for him.” And great news it was. Barlow journeyed down to Kaz’s home in South London where yet again, an emotional Kaz listened to Barlow tell him that he wants him back in the competition as part of Rough Copy. Barlow said, “I didn’t get to see you properly at boot camp, we all felt really bad about what happened. If my judges’ houses had been in the UK, you’d have been there. I took the guys to New York and they knocked it out of the park. They are going to go to live shows and this is the reason I am here today. Kazeem, I want you back in the group. Are you up for it? ” And just like that, Kaz was whisked off to reunite with his brothers.

It has already been stated a numerous amount of times, that Rough Copy has the ability to win this year XFactor. And if their performance last week were anything to go by, I would state that the sensational trio has already shown that they have got what it takes to win.

Geldof: Africa Needs Aid, Debt Cancellation, Western And Chinese Investment, And Mobile Phones

Days after declaring his own generation had “failed,” rock star-philanthropist Bob Geldof has told Al Jazeera that the next generation will do so too.

Geldof had struck the previous pessimistic note at The One Young World Summit in South Africa and has followed it up in an interview with Al Jazeera English’s South2North talk show.

Geldof was nevertheless still brimming with ideas on what should happen in Africa. The force behind Band Aid and Live Aid told host Haru Mutasa in the interview to be aired tonight:

“The first thing is education. Out of that will come an economy, an economy of scale. You do need aid, you do need debt cancellation, all those things I’ve banged on about for 30 years, You do need massive inward investment from the Chinese and the West. And you do need a social glue: in Africa’s case, that’s the mobile phone. There’s very little infrastructure here; this became a virtual infrastructure. Once you had the money available to trade, they began trading through this and you got liftoff on the African continent so that seven of the ten fastest-growing economies in the world today are on this continent.”

He says the youth are right to blame his generation for the problems in the world today. “All generations fail, but ours more spectacularly than most.”

Geldof: Africa Needs Aid, Debt Cancellation, Western And Chinese Investment, And Mobile Phones

However, he‘s not optimistic that this generation will do vastly better. “Your generation will fail as well,” he tells Haru. “You just try and ameliorate the future and steer it in a way that you think will work out. But if you seriously think you will escape this century without horrendous wars, without awful plagues, without deadly famines, if you think you’ll escape that, forget it.”

He warns that climate change has already happened. “There’s no avoiding it now, so now you have to offset the effects. The poorest people, the most vulnerable, those who contributed the least to this, they will be affected the most. Some of the countries out there won’t even be here in 20 years. Be very careful: wherever you look there’s a sense of unease. Name one country where there isn’t…”

Haru Mutasa is standing in for Redi Tlhabi, who is on maternity leave. She also talks to Bethlehem Alemu, the Ethiopian founder of global shoe brand SoleRebels; Nokia’s Yiwen Wu; and Jeremy Lamri, the French founder of Monkey Tie, an online recruitment platform.

This week’s episode of South2North premieres at 19:30 GMT tonight and also screens on Saturday at 14h30, Sunday 04h30 and Monday 08h30. For more info, visit their site.
