Alicia Keys welcomes second child with husband Swizz Beatz. Just like their first child, the newborn baby is a boy and has been named Genesis Ali Dean.
Their little bundle of joy was born in the early hours of Saturday December 27th, 2014. The American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress just made the announcement on Instagram. The baby, who was born at 1.52am weighed 2860 grams.
In an article titled “How Nigeria’s Rich Spend Over $2 Million On Their Dream Wedding,” Forbes contributor, Declan Eytan wrote on how wealthy Nigerian leaves no stone unturned when it comes to spending on their special and once in a lifetime day.
In the article, the Italian based writer alleged that these wealthy Nigerians spend huge sums of money on flying Illusionists from Spain, importing their flowers imported France, or inviting an American R&B superstar from the United States to entertain their guest.
Stating how the funders of such extraordinary wedding do not care about the cost and budgeting, Declan wrote, “don’t even mention the b-word – budget, that is – ’cause whatever the bride wants, the bride gets.”
“Our core clientèle is mainly made up by millionaires. They will not hesitate to spend the money in order to get what they want. If they need to fly in an artist from America, or a decorator from Dubai or London, they will do so,” says Funke Bucknor, founder of Nigeria’s leading wedding and events company, Zapphaire events as she affirms Nigerians truly spend a lot of money on their weddings.

Speaking about the most popular wedding destinations chosen by wealthy Nigerians, Funke adds, “Dubai and London are the most popular destinations, followed by Cape Town, Seychelles and the Maldives. Florence in currently growing in popularity.”
Adding to what the others have already said, Lagos-based former beauty-queen-turned-event-planner, Elohor Aisien, said, “Nigerians love champagne, so the most money will be spent on drinks as well as food. On Nigerian weddings, there’s food from 2 pm till midnight.” Given that the average Nigerian wedding will easily have around 1000 guests, whereas the bigger wedding will have between 2000 and 3000 guests, the choice of champagne is a crucial one. “Old money Nigerians may keep things more subtle, new money Nigerians are more concerned with letting people know that they’ve arrived. Magnums of Dom Pérignon will often be their drink of choice. In a way, it’s become this competition amongst brides. They’ll ask me: ‘How many bottles did she have? I need more.”
Confirming rich Nigerians actually spend $2 million and above on their weddings, Weruche Majekodunmi, the founder of Newton & David, a local company specialised in event design and décor said: “It has happened three times in the last five years that I’ve organised a wedding that cost over $2 million. They spent the most on food, Cristal champagne, entertainment and gifts to their guests. At one wedding all the invitees got their wedding outfit with their invitation. At another wedding, they handed out microwave ovens, smartphones and rice cookers, to all of their guests. At some other weddings, they’ll fly in their guests and arrange their accommodation in case they decide to get married overseas. You must understand, that our reasoning is different from that in the West.”

The man is said to have murdered the woman because he owes her money that runs into millions of Naira which he has refused to pay back and the woman demanded the money. The Austrian-based Nigerian woman known as Rose Aifuwa is said to have travelled to Nigeria in order to celebrate the festive period with her friends and family back home. Being black is ugly according to the words and attitude of black people, especially women who will do anything to change their skin colour to a very light shade.
Like many other parts of the world, Africa is no stranger to European standards of beauty. The practice of skin lightening is becoming rampant in many African countries as some folks go to drastic lengths to shed their dark complexions for lighter, “more acceptable” ones. And from advertising and magazines to TV and film, the black aesthetics are being pushed out, while European standards of beauty — blonde hair, blue eyes — are becoming more mainstream.
“It seems that the world is conspiring in preaching that there is something wrong with Kenyan ladies’ kinky hair and dark skin,” Kenyan model Ajuma Nasenyana told the Daily Nation.
Nasenyana wonders why European skincare companies that push lightening creams are entering Kenya marketing the European standard of beauty.
“Their leaflets are all about skin lightening, and they seem to be doing good business in Kenya. It just shocks me. It’s not OK for a Caucasian to tell us to lighten our skin,” she said.

Despite her beauty and that of women like her, Nasenyana is dismayed that while she is heralded abroad for her dark skin, at home she is seen as less than ideal.
“I have never attempted to change my skin. I am natural. People in Europe and America love my dark skin. But here in Kenya, in my home country, some consider it not attractive,” she lamented.
Instead of simply being disgusted with the growing contempt some have for their own skin, Nasenyana takes every opportunity she has to speak out against skin lightening and discrimination in the modeling world. She is also very critical of the Western media’s influence over Kenyans and concedes they are constantly being bombarded by magazines and advertisements that praise lighter skin.
“When you flip through fashion magazines like Vogue and only see white models, then you get the feeling on what is happening to black models. It is not fair,” she explained.
But Nasenyana, who has modeled for everyone from Victoria Secret to Carlos Mienes, isn’t just speaking out. The reining South African Fashion Week Model of the Year is also thinking of launching a line of cosmetics and natural skincare products for black women. Her hopes? That her products can inspire her peers to love their skin instead of bleach it.

Well, if Kim Kardashian broke the internet with her nude photo shoots for Paper Magazine, Portuguese professional footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is breaking the internet with his huge bulge as he’s honoured by his hometown.
Posing with the newly erected statue of himself in his hometown of Funchal, the 29-year-old soccer player looked calm and collected. The event took place on December 21st in Portugal.
The huge bronze statue created in the footballer’s likeness stands 10-feet tall and has a huge bulge that has sent the internet on frenzy as the media and the footballer’s fans on Twitter have been talking about it.
“I feel so proud to be honored with a statue in Madeira,” the 29-year-old striker wrote on his official Twitter account.
“It’s a huge joy to share this moment with my family and the people from Madeira. Thank you all for the warm reception.”
“The bulge on the @Cristiano statue is quite something itself,” @Eliot_Davies_12 tweeted.

Beyonce and husband Jay Z, as well as their daughter Blue Ivy are currently in Phuket, Thailand where they are spending their Christmas holiday. It is also reported the couple will be celebrating their New Year in the country as well as they’re scheduled to leave Thailand on January 4th.

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a man known as Festus Aimufua for the gruesome murder of his Austrian-based girlfriend who went to Nigeria to celebrate the Christmas and New Year merriments with her family. (See the photo of the man who committed the gruesome murder here.)
A manhunt has also been declared for a supposed witness of the horrid murder that is thought to have taken place in the early hours of December 25th (Christmas day).
The main culprit, Festus Aimufua has been arrested by the Ikpoba Hill Police Division for the suspected murder of Ms Rose Aifuwa, a middle-aged Austrian-based Nigerian from Benin City.
According to the reports by the National Mirror, before relocating to Austria, Rose and Festus were in a relationship and the two got together when the woman visited Nigeria.

Sources say the debt Festus owes Rose was accrued as a result of the spare parts she sent to his lover (Festus Aimufua) who is a spare parts dealer in Benin City to help her sell. Festus was supposed to send the money back to Rose after selling the goods but he never did. It is alleged the suspect must have killed the woman because she requested for her money. The debt is alleged to be running into millions of Naira, which he has refused to pay back.
After killing the deceased, her lifeless body was dumped on a road along Upper Mission Street extension around Oando Filling Station in Benin City in the early hours of December 25th. The gory sight of the deceased’s lifeless body attracted onlookers and people who recognised her. Her family was then notified and the case was promptly reported to the police.
Mr Aimufua, popularly known as “Two Million,” is currently in police custody while there’s an intense search for an alleged accomplice that might have witnessed and assisted the prime suspect in carrying out the brutal crime.
According to Saturday Mirror, the case would be transferred to the State Crime Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation of the homicide.
