While Nigerians are busy preparing for their upcoming election, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are quite preoccupied with something else. On Saturday the 28th of January, IPOB opened a Biafran embassy at the Basque county in Victoria, Spain.

Nigeria has its own embassy in Spain where former beauty queen Bianca Ojukwu, the wife of late Biafran warlord, Odimegwu Ojukwu is the Ambassador.

Nigeria is in the process of voting in new governments. The election was scheduled to take place on February 14th but was postponed to March due to security concerns. Since the postponement, many are worried it might lead to a military coup, war, or divide the country.

There are also worries that the March election may not hold and that another postponement might take place. The international community has pleaded with the country to stick to the March date.

Arcade Content’s Kyle Lewis directed 9 Shots, Khuli Chana’s new music video about his emotional journey after being shot by police in an unfortunate case of mistaken identity in 2013.

To thank his fans for their support, Khuli released the single as a free download on 28 October 2014, exactly a year after the shooting.

Kyle Lewis directs Khuli Chana¹s 9 Shots music video

He wanted the video to reflect his journey from anger to forgiveness, as well as how he oscillated between hopelessness and hopefulness. It’s not a music video attacking any individual or the SA Police Services at large: rather it’s about Khuli’s journey to healing in the medium that ultimately saved his life: music.

Like on his music video for Tumi’s In Defence of My Art, Kyle has used heavily symbolic imagery, deeply rooted in Africa.

“I feel like I’ve found my style,” says Kyle. “I’m using almost photographic compositions, with small, subtle movements, and very symbolic, very African imagery, that people can think a bit deeper about. It’s a look I want to continue to explore in my hip hop videos.”

9 Shots was lensed by Roscoe Vercueil and edited by Stephen du Plessis, with make-up and styling by Kaley Meyer.

Learning About A Business Through Its Founder

    0

When people want to learn about a business they are researching, they should start at the top. The upper reaches of a large business are filled with executives who have made their way to the top through a life story that anyone can learn from. When reading the biography of the person who founded the business, a great deal of learning can occur.

    The Founder’s Mission

When someone like Sukanto Tanoto has founded a company, it is wise to read their biographical information to see why they opened to business in the first place. Some people had to open several businesses before they were successful, but there are other people who hit the jackpot on their first try. The mission of the founder of the business will likely inform the vision of someone who has not yet made their first move in the world of business.

    The Executive’s Path

When someone is reading about the path that a major executive took to their corner, there is much to be gleaned from their career. People can see where these executives went to school, which degrees they have and which jobs they took before they ascended to the CEO’s seat. Some people are not sure which degree they should get, and they are unsure of which school they should attend. They might read the path of an executive to find that there are degrees and schools they can take on that will make their path straighter.

    The Company’s Governance

The governance structure of a large company changes from firm to firm. Reading about how the CEO manages the executive structure of a company can show people how they should manage the executive structure of their own company. A business needs to have a way of governing itself, and people who are learning about the business need to make sure that they have a good idea of how these businesses are run.

When someone wants to learn about a large business and its CEO, they need to read the biography of that CEO. This is very important for all students and young workers who have designs on becoming more prominent in the business world. They need to read about people who have already made it to the upper reaches of the business world, and they need to learn what these people are doing to make their companies successful.
