UK: Non-EEA – Fingerprints and Facial Image for Over 6 Months Stay

Non-EEA members applying to live over 6 months in the UK are required to register their fingerprints and facial image.

According to the UK Border Agency, all applicants from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who wants to stay in the UK for more than six months will have to register their fingerprints and digital facial image. In addition, more immigration and settlement routes need will require a biometric residence permit.

The UK Border Agency has completed the rollout of biometric residence permits in the UK. This will considerably increase the number of biometric residence permits issued by the agency.

The decision takes effect as from the 29 of February 2012.

However, if the applicants succeed, then they will be issued biometric permits which will serve as an evidence of immigration status and prerogative

According to the UK border agency, since November 2008 when the rollout began, it has issued around 650,000 biometric residence permits, containing fingerprints and photograph on a secure chip.

Biometric residence permits are considered an important step in fighting immigration abuse and illegal working. In addition, it makes it easier for employers to verify a foreign national’s right to work in the UK.

Netherlands: Ministers to Get tough on Dual Nationality

Ministers in the Netherlands have decide to get tough on citizens holding dual nationality. Also included are for Dutch nationals who have taken on an additional citizenship.

A decision was made on Friday the March 2 2012 by the Dutch ministers to press ahead with a legislation aimed at decreasing the number of people with dual nationality, despite extensive disapproval.

According to the legislation, everyone who becomes Dutch or wants to become a Dutch citizen has to give up their original nationality if it is legally possible. On the other hand, Dutch nationals who take a second nationality will also be made to automatically lose their Dutch passports.

In addition, new Dutch nationals will be required to have a family income of at least the minimum wage as well as prove they have at least two years work experience or have some sort of professional qualification.

Brussels Angered by New Dutch Immigration Rule to Deport Jobless EU Citizens

According to a report that was published by the NRC on Wednesday, the European Commission is angered by a new Dutch immigration rule that is meant to deport jobless EU citizens. The commission said it will take legal actions against the Netherlands if it goes ahead and repatriate EU citizens who remain jobless for three months.

NRC’s claim was based on a letter that was written by the Commission and addressed to the home affairs minister, Henk Kamp and also to the immigration minister Gerd Leers. Last year, Kamp said jobless people from Eastern Europe should be deported from the Netherlands if they are not prepared to willingly leave the country.

According to EU laws, EU nationals have up to six months to find work in another European country, before they have to return home. To enable them stay longer, they must be able to demonstrate they have ‘a serious chance’ of finding a job.

Social security

The paper also reported that the Commission is not happy with another new decision the Netherlands has taken in regards to social security. Under this rule, people working in the Netherlands but living in another EU country will not be eligible for social security rights. According to the commission, such a decision defies the EU’s rules on the rights of workers living in border areas.

The letter is signed by employment commissioner Laszlo Andor and justice commissioner Viviane Reding. It was sent at the end of last year and has not yet received an answer.

According to the content of the letter, the European Commission has ‘serious concerns’ about the position the Netherlands has taken and it is unwilling to accept any compromise in such a ‘serious question’ as the right of free movement among people in the EU.

The Netherlands: Speak No Dutch – Receive No Social Welfare Support

The VVD has come up with a proposal that will make it compulsory for immigrants to speak Dutch in order to receive social welfare support. Speak No Dutch, Receive No Social Welfare Support, will make sure those who cannot speak the language receive no support from the government.

A report published in the Dutch newspaper stated that the conservative party VVD has said that, only people who speak Dutch should be entitled for the social welfare support. The MP Cora van Nieuwenhuizen hopes to adopt a proposal from the governing VVD into legislation on January 1, 2013.

In 2010, the VVD declared that it intends to improve the social welfare system. It can rely on support from its smaller coalition partner, the Christian Democrats, as well as the democrat D66 opposition party. “It depends on the type of benefit, but the bottom line is I think anyone claiming welfare should be able to speak Dutch,” says D66 MP Fatma Koser Kaya in de Volkskrant.

The famous Geert Wilders’ anti-Islam Freedom Party, which supports the minority government in parliament, is also in favour of the proposal.

Dutch test “superfluous”

According to the Dutch Labour Party, the Socialist Party and GreenLeft, the proposed legislation is “needless” because, under the present system, social assistance claimants are forced to do their best to get work. They point out that many people receiving welfare are already attending Dutch classes so that they can apply for jobs in a Dutch-speaking atmosphere.

Ms Van Nieuwenhuizen says welfare applicants will be given a chance to improve their Dutch before having their welfare payments reduced if they fail the language test. “But if they don’t cooperate, then their payments can be reduced by 20 percent after six months. If they still resist after that, their benefit will be cut by 40 percent. Eventually, they will forfeit their right to social assistance altogether.”

According to Amber Rose, her engagement to Wiz Khalifa made her the happiest woman in the world. Her sparkling engagement ring photo was shared via twitter. The US weekly said Khalifa has hinted that a proposal would happen soon after the 54th Annual Grammy Awards night on February 12.

Amber Rose told E! News that she and Khalifa wanted to get married, and they were just taking their time to work things out perfectly. According to her “whenever he wants to propose, that’s when it will happen.”

Khalifa is so excited that Amber is finally engaged with him. He tweeted a photo of Amber Rose’s ring on Thursday using the caption, “She said yes!” According to Amber Rose, love is everywhere, and Khalifa is just the perfect guy.

Wiz Khalifa is a normal guy and he is so sweet because he didn’t let the fame and everything get to him. Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose have been dating for over a year now. Rose’s relationship with Khalifa gave her the opportunity to have a link to Kanye West.

FHM Phillipines has Pulled the cover of its March 2012 issue from the stands after accusations of racism.

FHM is the country’s top-selling magazine for men. In the March issue, light skinned actress, Bela Padilla was featured standing in front of two black models accompanied by the caption “stepping out of the shadows”.

To deal with the huge criticism the magazine was receiving, the local publisher Summit Media was left with no choice but to issue an apology, pull the edition from circulation as well as promise to print a new cover that will feature Padilla. A statement from the company read, “in our pursuit to come up with edgier covers, we will strive to be more sensitive.” In the Philippines, The company publishes more than 20 magazines.

According to the New York Times, the photo of swimsuit-clad Filipino actress Bela Padilla immediately met backlash from readers and social media users who argue the photo is racist and insensitive. “Seriously, did you guys not sense how racist this concept was?” writes one user on the magazine’s Facebook page.

Miss West Africa is currently the only international African pageant to take place across Europe, the Americas, and Africa, under one organizing body.

The current Miss West Africa UK is Astride Costa, who during her reign doing charity work, modelling for designers in Uk and Africa, and her many personal appearances has shown herself to be an enthusiastic, charitable, and ambitious queen who has made Africa and UK proud. Bilingual Astride is also a talented, aspiring singer plus a creative designer who designed her own dress for her appearance at the UK final. Criteria

Contestants must be ready and willing to carry out charitable duties
Contestants must be able to attend all rehearsals to their best ability
Contestant must be between the ages of 18 – 26 years
Contestant must be between sizes 6 and 14
Contestant must be no shorter than 5ft2
Contestant must be comfortable in swimwear
Contestant must be either African and born in West Africa, or have 50% or more of West African Parentage, or born outside West Africa but with full West African Heritage.
The countries include: Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, Senegal.
Contestant must be able to travel, have a valid passport & no criminal convictions
Poor behaviour on the part of a contestant will result in disqualification. Code of conduct will be outlined in the registration contract
Contestant must be confident with a winning spirit and attitude
Contestants must email to info@misswestafrica.com, two images immediately after applying online.
There will be a registration fee to cover administration and a photo shoot, so we encourage pageants to seek sponsors for the entire course, although, we will engage in helping yourself find sponsors after registration.
The winner of this pageant should be prepared to travel to Africa and engage in charitable work, as well as remain under the sole management of Miss West Africa ltd during the period of her reign.

Rick Ross under investigation in a murder case that took place in front of his Miami home.

According to the Miami Gardens police officer, a man was found dead on the front lawn of Rozay’s Miami home this morning. The police said they want to question Rick Ross the Maybach Music leader, because the deceased man was found shot outside the front gate of Rick Ross house. The hip-hop heavyweight is not in any trouble at the moment. The police said the investigation is still going on.

According to the report from Time Magazine, the unmanned man was discovered on the ground inside the gate to the front of Ricks Ross’s property. Officials say’s that Rozay was not home at the time of the shooting and have no idea if Ross has any connection with the murder. Ross is yet to make a statement, said the Police.

Dereck Chisora Handed Indefinite Ban by World Boxing Council

Dereck Chisora: Famous boxer was handed an indefinite ban by the World Boxing Council for his Munich foolishness.

The British bad boy Dereck Chisora fought with David Haye at a Press Conference and spanked Klitschko during the weigh-in before their heavyweight title cash.

According to WBC Chiefs, while handing out the ban, he said, “Dereck Chisora’s conduct is one of the worst ever by a pro boxer.” He added that decisions have been taken that until Chisora agree to take anger management classes, else his ban will not be considered.

A spokesman said, “We absolutely condemn the behavior that is not to be accepted in boxing under any circumstances and we will impose the fines and sanctions as we consider necessary.”

The 28 years old Londoner also spat water at Klitschko’s brother Wladimir, was improbable to fight for their title again and faces a British Board hearing on the14th of March when he can expect a long-lasting ban.

Chisora was arrested then released without charge following the incident with Haye.

He has since allotted a proclamation in which he confessed that his behaviour was ‘inexcusable’ but added: “There were many things that went on behind the scenes.”
