After being introduced by military mother Elaine Brye, First Lady Michelle Obama addressed the DNC on Tuesday night, speaking in support of her husband, President Barack Obama, and talking of her own role, including self-titled “Mom-in-Chief.”

According to a report from the Irish Central, about 4,000 immigrants were granted Irish citizenship on Wednesday, in a number of ceremonies across Dublin.
The first Citizenship Ceremony ever held in Ireland took place in June 2011, since then approximately 14,000 individuals from 161 countries have been granted citizenship at 55 ceremonies.
Minister for Justice Alan Shatter spoke about the significance of the day for so many people, as 3,400 people were sworn in as Irish citizens.
“For those of you granted citizenship your future is now interwoven with the future of this State, its citizens across the globe and in particular, all of us who live on this island.”
The Minister said Ireland was enriched by the presence of new citizens: “You have come to our country and have chosen to live among us. Some of you have been waiting a considerable time for this day to arrive.
“Today, we welcome you to our nation as its newest citizens, and we hope that you will continue to contribute to our communities, to our neighbourhood and to our society,” he said.
Among the new citizens was Maria Elizabeth Mallo (50), a Filipino native, who has been living in Roscommon for 10 years.
“I am very excited today because I have been here for so long working hard to get my citizenship,” she told the Irish Times.
“I love Ireland, although being from a tropical country I don’t think I will ever be used to the weather,” she added.
Originally from Lagos in Nigeria, Paul Ewetuga (42) has been waiting 10 years to get citizenship.
“It is good for me today because it will make some major changes to my life such as access to good healthcare and education,” he told The Irish Times. “When I was not a citizen here my life was much harder.”
Last September, Dhan Maya Adhikari (39) attended her husband’s citizenship ceremony. She moved to Ireland from Pokhara in Nepal over six years ago.
“I am living over six years in Ireland,. and it is very nice to become a citizen now like my husband. I like very much the people here, and we are very happy,” she said.

African Fashion is taking a new form as young African designers are using African prints in stylish and inspirational ways to come up with flamboyant designs.
Some couple of years ago, African prints were used for designing traditional African dresses. Today African designers have changed these designs into global fashionable pieces. The western fashion industry has fallen in love with the African prints and its designs from Africa. “The British edition of Vogue magazine has described fashion coming out of Africa as ‘traditional references that continue to inspire.” Fashion design has become so exposed among young and talented Africans, as many of them are into designs using African prints.

After it was reported on Friday that Heidi Klum was dating her bodyguard of four years, Martin Kristen, her soon-to-be ex-husband Seal had a very bitter response for the mother of his four children.
“To be quite honest, if there is going to be somebody else in their lives, I’d much rather it was a familiar face,” the “Kiss From a Rose” singer told TMZ as he made his way through an airport on Saturday. “I guess the only thing I would have preferred is that … I guess I didn’t expect any better from him, I would have preferred Heidi show a little bit more class and at least wait until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help, as it were,” he adds, insinuating that the relationship began before he and Klum announced their split in January. “But I guess you now all have the answer that you’ve been looking for the past seven months.”
According to reports, the “Project Runway” host has been dating Kristen, who she was spotted getting cozy with during a family day at the beach in Sardinia, Italy, this week with her parents and four children just feet away. In one photo, Klum and Kristen are seated side by side on a rock and it looks like she is taking a pic of them on her phone, while in another, he has his arm around her as she smiles. “It’s complicated,” a friend of Klum tells People Magazine. “Their relationship is hard to define.”

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel has been growing closer to Kristen ever since she separated from Seal in January. Despite Seal’s new cheating claims, Klum, 39, has said the breakup came as a surprise to her and she has reportedly been seeking comfort with her long-time pal during the “difficult time,” adds the People source. “Her inner circle of people she trusts is getting smaller and smaller and he is her No. 1 confidante.”
Klum is going to need all the support she can get from Kristen. Radar Online reports that the divorce between her and Seal is starting to get a little nasty — and that’s apparent judging from his outburst on Friday. In addition to fighting over money – the $70 million model insists she and her less-successful ex had no joint assets, which he denies – they’re also going back and forth over their four children: Leni, 8, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2. She wants primary physical custody, but Seal believes they should share it 50-50.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed that 22 years old Mario Balotelli is set to undergo eye surgery on September 4 as he is no longer able to wear contact lenses and requires surgery to correct the problem.
Mancini revealed the Italian striker will soon go under the knife and consequently is not ready to feature in City’s match against QPR this weekend.
In a statement to reporters, Mancini said Mario is not ready to return to the pitch yet. He no longer seems to tolerate contact lenses. He’s feeling alright now, but the problem can return any time.
