British-Nigerian actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor wins as Best Actor at the BAFTAs 2014 for his role in the film, “12 Years A Slave. Ejiofor competed with the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Bruce Dern to win this year’s award as best actor at BAFTAs.
Making his speech and showing his appreciation for all the support, Ejiofor said, “I’m so deeply honoured and privileged”. He then went on to thank the director, Steve McQueen. “Thank you for you work, your artistry and your passion in this project … to make it of such value, of such worth. This is yours by the way – I’m going to keep it, that’s the kind of guy I am, but it’s yours.”

It is the third film Oprah has acted in.

The 2014 edition of the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) took place on Sunday night at the Royal Opera house in London. American and international music artists, Brandy and Kelly Rowland photographed at the Dare Art Alade’s concert that took place in Lagos Nigeria on Saturday 15 February 2014. The NGOMA Africa band, known as the (Golden Voice of East Africa) or ” FFU- Field force unit” is one of the few African bands in Germany to have touched hearts and left audience dancing and week in the knees.
Founded in 1993, it is led by Tanzanian musician born Ebrahim Makunja aka kamanda Ras Makunja – “King of Anunnaki”. The NGOMA Africa Band has successfully written and released several songs amongst which is the latest “Bongo Tambarare”, repertoires mostly in the native Tanzania and East African Kiswahili language.

Simon Cowell became a father last night after girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth to a baby boy at 10.42pm UK time. The X Factor judge and music mogul is said to have travelled 3,500 miles from London to the Big Apple after Lauren phoned him in the middle of the night to say: “The baby’s on the way”
Simon Cowell’s baby boy weighed 6 pounds and 7 ounces, and was born at 17.45 EST on St. Valentines day (February 14, 2014).The baby boy is named after Cowell’s father Eric. Simon was by Lauren’s side at the hospital in New York after a Trans-Atlantic dash to get there in time.
Simon is 54, and this baby is his first. His girlfriend Lauren, who is 37, was expected to give birth around the 28th of February.
