British-Nigerian actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor is in Nigeria to attend the Nigerian premiere of “Half of a Yellow Sun” that is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos.
The Oscar-nominated actor and BAFTA winner arrived Murtala Muhammed InternOscar-nominated, Ikeja and around 6am local time and met with the movie Director, Biyi Bandele, as well a few fans.
Later on, the British actor attended a press conference with the cast and crew of Half of a Yellow Sun in Ikoyi, Lagos. There, he explained his nationality saying that he was born and raised in London, UK and always has to reference that, but admitted he is a Nigerian. “I’m Nigerian-British” Chiwetel stated.

America’s First Lady Michelle Obama almost a major wardrobe malfunction while boarding Air Force One on a blustery morning in Texas. But luckily for Michelle, President Barack Obama was swift enough to protect her flying skirt from having a Marilyn Monroe’s moment on her, just like the Duchess of Cambridge has had many of them.
The first lady was wearing a pleated navy skirt and a matching jacket at Place2Be, a London-based anti-bullying charity when the wind became intense for her skirt to handle.
The first lady’s skirt was seen flying above and almost about to reveal too much for the public eye. But President Obama saved Michelle from some potentially very embarrassing moment and photos by gently placing his hand over his wife’s bottom and flying skirt. So, the President saved the day and the First Lady ended up not having the famous and iconic Marilyn Monroe moment in which her gorgeous white dress was seen flying in the air.
The moment recalled the recent wardrobe malfunction suffered by the Duchess of Cambridge when she disembarked her flight in Wellington, New Zealand, earlier this week for her royal tour with Prince William and their infant son Prince George. Dressed in a long red lacy gown with neatly packed braided hair and red lipstick to go with it, Chimamanda was looking every bit ready to steal the red carpet.
Apart from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the movie cast members were also present at the event. The likes of Chiwetel Ejiofor from ‘12 Years a Slave‘ and his model girlfriend, Sari Mercer. Thandie Newton, who plays Olanna in the adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie‘s bestseller, made her first red carpet-appearance since welcoming her son five weeks ago. The 41-year-old actress showed off her post-baby body in a Little Black Dress. She complemented it with a dark-blue clutch bag and golden shoes.

What are the three things we should all do to have beautiful hair?
Condition. Condition. Condition. Whether you think you need it or not, use a conditioner every time you shampoo, and slather on a thick hair mask once a week (I just launched a Keratin Mask and Treatment Pak that you can leave on in the shower for five minutes). Restoring moisture to the hair is really important to help repair dry ends and add shine.
Anything we should never do?
I don’t believe you can do two chemical treatments at once and still have healthy hair. If I’m putting a relaxer in her hair, I don’t do color. And if I’m doing color, no relaxer. Because heat is also very damaging, I try not to use blow-dryers or irons on Oprah’s hair more than three times a week. Lately I’ve been doing ponytails to stretch the time between blow-dries. With a little height on top, a pony can look very polished.
You’ve created hundreds of hairstyles for Oprah. What’s your favorite?
I’m happiest with the ones that she’s been happiest with. For her 50th birthday, we did a short, choppy look with a bit of a flip. She often looks back and says, “I really love that hairstyle.” Of course, she also reminds me of the styles that weren’t so great. But in my defense: It was the ’80s!
Who did you develop your new line for?
I wanted products that are appropriate for all hair textures, all ethnicities. Everyone can use my keratin shampoo and conditioner and my hair oil. As the line expands, I’ll also develop formulas that target specific needs, like volumizing.

Too many people believe they need others to believe in them before they can believe they are capable of achieving anything. But the truth is, if you don’t believe in yourself, no one will do it for you. When you believe in yourself, your confidence will radiate from within and show on you. And through your confidence, people will believe in you because they believe you know what you’re doing and you’re also in control.
Learn to love yourself. That is the greatest love you can find. Self-love is the ultimate love that will liberate you from constantly seeking the approval of others. If you love yourself, you’ll be confident of who you are because you’ll believe in yourself and let no one bring you down easily. Remember, humans can be cruel. They’ll try everything to bring you down if you allow them. Especially those that are unhappy with their lives and looking for people to bring down to their level. And they can only succeed if you allow them. And still on self-love. The only way you can truly love others is to first love yourself if you have no love in you for yourself, where will you find love to give to others?
And remember to be humble. Loving yourself is not to make you feel you’re better than others. In fact, it is to make you more human and be compassionate with your fellow man. Believe in yourself. That’s the only way you can help yourself and those that might need your help. Believe in you, no one can do it for you.
