I Tell My Story Says Malala Yousafzai As She Receives Her Nobel Prize

Malala Yousafzai, the 17-year-old Pakistani who was a victim of assassination for being an education activist for the girl child in Pakistan received her joint Nobel Peace Prize today December 10th at the city hall in Oslo, Norway. She won the award in October alongside Indian child rights campaigner Kailash Satyarthi.

The duo received the award from the chairman of the Norwegian Nobel committee, in the presence of King Harald V of Norway. While receiving, Malala said she was there to stand up for the rights of children who are frightened and have been forgotten and frightened. She added that her mission was to raise their voice and not to feel pity for them.

[box type=”note” ]In her speech she said, ‘I am many’ In her speech, Ms Yousafzai said the award was not just for her: “It is for those forgotten children who want education. It is for those frightened children who want peace. It is for those voiceless children who want change.

“I am here to stand up for their rights, raise their voice. It is not time to pity them. It is time to take action so it becomes the last time that we see a child deprived of education.”[/box]

Stating the reason she decide she’s telling her story, the teenager said, “I tell my story, not because it is unique, but because it is not. It is the story of many girls. I am pretty certain that I am also the first recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize who still fights with her younger brothers”.

Kim Kardashian stuns in a super cheap dress, come in here and see what she was wearing and how it looked on her. While Kim Kardashian is known for wearing expensive designer brands. But the reality TV star showed she can still look good in a cheap dress and make it look like it was a piece from a top designer. The popular socialite has been doing a bit of thrifty shopping.

The 34-year-old mother of one rocked a $19 dress she bought from an online bargain shop and was proud to show it off. She shared a photo of her wearing the dress on Instagram and accompanied it with the text: “I wore this look the other night on my date night (got this dress online for $19) and put my fave Max Mara coat on top for NYC. I really wanted an all creamy camel moment but the wind didn’t allow for this lol #TheWindYouGuysIsthisReallyNecessary”

Kim Kardashian showed she may be earning millions but don’t mind mixing and matching some bargain clothes with her expensive collection. Kim, who is the most searched person of 2014, according to Bing is apparently taking a leaf from American First Lady, Michelle Obama and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton who often wear Topshop and other average high-street brands. 28 Internet Acronyms Every Parent Should Know

CNN’s digital correspondent and editor-at-large covering family, career and life, Kelly Wallace have put together a list of some of the internet acronyms commonly used by savvy teenagers on social media and texting apps to hide their conversations from attentive parents.

According to her, most parents are unaware of what these acronyms mean and Wallace thinks every parent should know as most of them may look innocent but are really dangerous.

Wallace, who is a mother herself and has two teenage children says she did not know what these acronyms mean until they were interpreted to her. And according to her, having two teens means she should have known, but like most parents, she did not.

Wallace says knowing the slang teenagers use will help the parents in signalling dangerous behaviour from their children. For example, PIR means “Parents In Room” and teens use it when they want to discuss something they know their parents will not approve of. Another one is “GNOC,” that might seem innocent without knowing what it means. But in reality, it means “Get Naked On Camera.”

Also, while the acronym POS may mean “Point of sale” in the business world. Teenagers actually use it to warm their chat partners a parent is watching their conversation and it means, “Parent over shoulder“. Such codes signal a teen is about to say something that may be inappropriate or not tolerated by the parent.

Prince William Flies Commercial, Stunned US Passengers Tweet Photos

The ‘people’s’ Prince stunned commuters as he flew commercial. But the Duke of Cambridge and second in line to the British royal throne shunned exclusive treatment, instead boarding a commercial flight to from LaGuardia Airport to Washington DC where he visited the American President, Barack Obama yesterday.

Besides flying commercial, Prince William sat in the coach section of the plane and not in the business class. Many passengers who were excited and stunned by the the prince’s humility snapped photos and shared on their social network with compliments.

One excited passenger named Sam Kim shared one of the photos on Twitter and accompanied it with the text, “Our flight was delayed and a caravan of black suburbans pulled up to the plane. Then the most unexpected guest stepped onto our DC shuttle flight this morning.”

Another stunned passenger with the Twitter handle, @local24eli posted another photo and wrote, “#EXCLUISIVE PIC: I am still amazed #Prince William flies COACH. That’s pretty humble/awesome. Who knew?

British Royalty Meets American Pop Royalty!

American pop royalty, Queen Bey and her husband Jay-Z met with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton at a Brooklyn Nets game in New York last night. The royal couple is in New York for official engagement but requested to meet American entertainment power couple, Beyonce and her husband, Jay-Z while in New York City.

Prince William also met with the American President Barack Obama. He Duke of Cambridge was alone when he met the president as Kate Middleton stayed back in New York. The photos are also below.

Nigerian Bleaching Expert Pele Okiemute Showcases Skin Lightening Products

It looks like Nigerian bleaching expert is working towards breaking the internet. Few days after sharing three different photographs highlighting how he bleached his skin from dark to pale, the socialite and bleaching cream seller has shared another set of photographs showcasing some of the skin lightening products he uses. Eucerin, Rose Milk and other products whose name where not visible or placed behind other products could be seen on the table. In one of the photographs, Pele is seen holding two of his “PELS” skin bleaching products. One on his left hand and another on his right hand while smiling and posing for the camera.

The Nigerian bleaching expert and skincare entrepreneur became popular after turning his skin from a very dark tone to a very pale shade. Pele claims he has a long list of Nigerian celebrities who he mixes cream for to enable them bleach and achieve a fairer skin tone.

Kim Kardashian set the internet ablaze when her #BreakTheInternet themed photo with Paper Magazine was published. There were condemnations are applaud.

While most of them have received no massive attention or being talked about like Kim’s nude pose, it seems like many magazine covers and photo shoots are centered on nakedness, making it look like it’s the season of the nudes.

Made in Ghana: Ethically-Made And Handcrafted African Luxury Accessories

In the last decade, African fashion has tremendously grown to the level that international stars and famous people are now wearing clothes made from African print or created by African fashion designers.

While most of these African designers are using African prints and a combination of western fabrics for their designs, one designer has chosen to do things differently. Ghanaian fashion designer, Akosua Afriyie-Kumi produces her handbags using raffia. These made in Ghana bags are handmade and it takes about a week to complete one.

Akosua, who’s the founder of AAKS says she wants to change perceptions of Africa through fashion and has chosen to do so by producing luxurious handmade accessories from an age-old Ghanaian craftsmanship traditions. Using her made in Ghana accessories, Akosua wants the world to see how luxury and quality can grow from traditional African designs.

Before starting her own fashion brand, Akosua interned and worked as a designer with fashion designers such as Peter Pilotto, Matthew Williamson and William Tempest in London. She then went to Ghana in 2013 where she set up AAKS, a brand that’s using craftsmanship skills and techniques that are unique to that part of Ghana for her designs.

Because they’re made by hand, each bag and accessory bear the fingerprints of the person who fashioned it, as well as a signature tag that is added to prove authenticity.

Akosua’s designs have been showcased at international fashion shows in Milan and London. Her brand tells an exciting story of Ghana, offering a divergent interpretation of Africa as a whole.

The visual artistry behind every design is reflected through the images of Ghana and the crafters as they create these handbags shared on AAKS’s social network. Akosua is building an African brand ethically and conscientiously – one handbag at a time.

Jay Z, Beyonce and Blue Ivy On Outing To Annie Movie premiere

Jay-Z, Beyonce and their daughter, Blue Ivy were seen together as they go on an outing to support the premiere of the movie, Annie – that took place in New York last night December 7th. The new film is an adaptation of the Broadway musical, Annie and has Jay-Z as one of its producers.

The movie features Hollywood stars such as Cameron Diaz, Quvenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne, and Bobby Cannavale who took to the screen during the premiere. Annie is directed by Will Gluck and is set to hit theatres on December 19. Apart from Jay Z, Annie was co-produced by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, as well as several others.

Blue Ivy, who is almost three years old is growing very fast and looking prettier by the day. Her hair was also neatly combed and styled. Last year, Beyonce and Jay Z were criticized for letting Ivy wear a “messy” Afro.hair and some were wondering if the “Crazy in Love” singer had no comb to care for the child’s hair.
