Terror in Paris this afternoon as Islamic gunmen attack a French satirical magazine for making mockery of prophet Mohammed in a cartoon.
The romantic city of Paris was turned into a terror zone as this afternoon as two masked gunmen men storm a French satirical newspaper known as Charlie Hebdo and execute staff members. The two terrorists are reported to have stalked the building and were asking for people’s names before killing them. The magazine’s editor and cartoonist are among the people that were killed as they were in the middle of their weekly editorial meeting.
A total of 12 people were killed in the massacre while 10 others were wounded. Among the victims are reporters, administrative staffs, as well as two police officers.
According to reports, the men were brandishing AK-47s and shouting ‘Allahu akbar!’ and ‘the Prophet has been avenged’ as they carry out their terror attack. In a horrifying footage, a French police officer is seen begging the merciless killers to spare his life but his pleas were unanswered as he was shot in the head at point-blank range.
The attackers are said to have fled in stolen car across eastern Paris after having a “mass shoot-out” with French police officers and are currently on the loose. The revenge attack was supposedly carried out because the newspaper had recently posted a picture of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on its Twitter account and was seen as a mockery of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.
This is not the first time the newspaper is being attacked by Islamic extremist. In 2011, the publication’s offices were firebombed for publishing a satirical cartoon of Prophet Mohammed.

In an article that was featured on the January issue of the National Geographic Magazine and named Lagos as Africa’s first city, Photographer Robin Hammond visited Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria where he took pictures of different people and locations representing the city and its people.

In the latest unrest among refugees in France trying to get into the United Kingdom through Calais by storming lorries bound for Britain, a fight ensued between African migrants and Afghan migrants.
About two hundred migrants from both camps were involved in the battle that required the attention of over a hundred French riot police to stop the violence that left seven men slightly injured after the African and Afghan migrants attacked each other with sticks and stones.
“It was a big fight involving 200 migrants. We have had ones of this size before,” said Nicolas Honoré, a Calais police official.
The battles started on Friday evening and lasted until around 3am on Satruday the 3rd of January 2015.
“Some of them had been drinking, especially the Africans, which can cause tensions with the Afghans who do not drink,” Christian Salome, a worker with a group that provides meals to the migrants told AFP news agency.

Sh*t happens sometimes and it can happen real fast. That was what happened to a University of Florida baller, Adam Lane Jr who pooped on his pants during a live bowl game. The event took place yesterday Sunday the 4th of January during a Birmingham Bowl game between his team and East Carolina University Pirates.
The player was unaware of the embarrassing and unfortunate accident that left a yellow mark on his pants after scoring a touchdown. He still ran around in the field for a few minutes with the yellow poop stains until he was approached by a trainer who handed him a towel to cover up.
He was then escorted away from the field to enable him clean up himself. By the time Lane returned to the field again, he had changed into a fresh pair of white spandex pants.

The Indian police has arrested four Nigerians and a woman over internet fraud. During the arrest that was made on Saturday January 3rd by the Hyderabad police in India, money, a car and mobile phones were recovered from the gang according to the police.
The four Nigerians arrested by the Indian police are Peter Austin (29), Uzaonicha Daniel Iwenwanne (26), Eboh Felix (26) and Steffi Ebohon (24). According to reports, the gang contacted a student named Mohd Wasiuddin, and told him he’s won some money. The gang was then able to convince the unsuspecting Wasiuddin to pay money for registration, processing fees, customs clearance and other expenses, says the police.
“Believing the gang members, Wasiuddin deposited about Rs. 35 lakh in different bank accounts operated from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Mumbai, only to realize later that it was fraud” said the police in charge of the case.
The gang of four Nigerian internet fraudsters were later arrested after the police posed as another of their victim and were able to trace their phone call data record as well as their email conversations.

The mother of the Austrian-based Nigerian woman that was killed by her lover/business partner in Benin City, the capital of Edo State in Nigeria is demanding justice for the brutal murder of her daughter.
According to what the mother (pictured above on the right) told the Vanguard Newspaper, she left Ms Rose Aifuwa (pictured above in the middle) in the company of his lover, Festus Aimufua (pictured above on the left) and his friends on December 24th to go to bed as she was feeling unwell. She said her daughter even made a joke about it, calling her an old woman. And that at the time she left, Festus and his friends were having some drinks at her daughter’s place.
She said the next day, she was supposed to go back to her daughter’s place, only to receive the message that her daughter was dead and the body was lying at a junction.
“The killer of my daughter said they both slept together and that when he wanted to leave my daughter held him insisting he must pay her the money he owed over some business transaction. It was at that point he knocked her down with his vehicle and dragged her on the ground which led to her death,” she told the Vanguard.
Lamenting on her daughter’s loss and what it meant to her, she said her world has crumbled, and that she’s in hell as her daughter is her breadwinner.
She also talked about how her daughter has been shipping goods to Festus to sell and remit the money to her but he never did. And according to her, when Rose complained that Festus has not been remitting her money, she advised her to stop sending her her goods.
Talking about other things her daughter has been doing for Festus, she said Rose also bought Festus a car and rented him an apartment that she spent over N250,000 on and her reason was to uplift his status because she was being laughed at for dating a man beneath her status. In addition to the car and rented apartment, Rose was also building a house for Festus at Aduwawa in Benin City and that most of her business dealings in Nigeria were controlled by Festus because the late Ms Rose trusted him.
“I am begging the police and Governor Adams Oshiomhole to come and help me. They should ask Festus why he killed my daughter despite all my daughter did for his in life. I have never seen this kind of wickedness in my life. Instead of killing her he should have gone with the money. I am finished,” she told the Vanguard amidst tears.
According to the Vanguard, further investigations revealed the sum of money owed to Rose by Festus has accumulated to about N20 million. They also reported that Festus was a married man with two children.
Confirming the incident, the Edo state Police Public relations officer, DSP Joseph Edoigiawerie, said the case was reported to them by the brother of the deceased.
“A case of murder was reported by one Elvis Omokhojie, that his sister, named Rose Aifuwa, was found lying dead on Upper Mission Extension junction, Aduwawa, Benin-City, and the cause of death unknown. We have been to the scene of the incident and taken the corpse to the mortuary. Our investigation led to the arrest of the man friend or lover because, according to the report, he (the suspect) was last seen with her,” he said.”
As an Austrian citizen who travelled to Nigeria with an Austrian passport, the Austrian embassy is reported to have had written to the Edo state Police command over the death of Rose.
