The confusion that rocked the world wide web after a dress was posted online with people debating on team #Blue&black or White&Gold, has been resolved. #TheDress the dress became a viral hashtag that got media outlets, celebrities and social media users talking.
A photo of the dress was initially posted on Tumblr by a 21-year-old British singer named Caitlin McNeill who said she and her friends have been debating the colour after it was first posted on Facebook.
Putting #TheDress debate to rest, the company behind the design has come out to say it is actually #Blue&Black and that there is no #White&Gold version at the moment. Currently, the dress has other colours such as the pink and black, white and black and red and black.
Since #dressgate went viral, the £50 Roman Originals dress has totally sold out.
Hoping to cash in on the viral #thedress that has seen the company selling many pieces of the outfit, Roman Originals have said they’re they’re thinking about creating the white and gold version. Roman Originals says the debate has raised the sale of the dress to about 347%.
