Rihanna New Music Video: What Now

    1

Check out Rihanna’s new music video, “What Now”. The song explores the dark side of love and according to Rihanna, the video is creepy and demented.

“It’s gonna be kinda eery, very creepy because ‘What Now’ is one of those songs that you can get really boring with the visual,” said Rihanna. “Everybody’s probably expecting like a narrative type of video, a love story of some sorts, something really soft and pretty. It is pretty and kinda soft, but it’s really a little demented.”

What Now is the fifth single off Rihanna’s album, Unapologetic.

London Christmas Lights: The Festive Season ‘Christmas Has Arrived, Or At Least It Has In Oxford Circus’

    london-christmas-lights-christmas-arrived-oxford-circus-afrocosmopolitan-com-christmas-lights-and-travel

London is known to be a beautiful and magical place over the winter. One of the main reasons for this is the fantastic, breathtaking array of Christmas lights and decorations that leave a twinkle in your eyes. As December is fast approaching, London’s festival celebrations begin and it all started last Saturday in the west end where the London Christmas lights were switched on. For those who are not aware, every year – the Christmas lights on the west end have a different theme. This year’s theme for Oxford Street was inspired by crystal white falling snowflakes which are the first snowflake inspired the theme for Oxford Street in five years. The sensational transformation in Oxford Street will definitely brighten up your shopping trips and get you in festival spirit.

It is not unusual for London to make a big scene of the Christmas lights being switched on, and this year was no different. Oxford Street lights switch on was hosted by Lisa Snowdon and Dave Berry who are presenters at Capital FM. X-Factor winner James Arthur, Conor Maynard and talented pop star, Jessie J had all agreed to perform live on the stage which was provided right outside the rememberable Selfridges store. Once all performances were finished, Jessie J pushed the bottom at 6.15 pm and the £1.5 million display of falling snowflakes lit up the street. The crowd cheered and fireworks were let off on top of the Oxford streets buildings. Not only did this enhance the crowds hyped up energy, the beautiful sparks lit up the night sky and left a glare of white mist in the air. It most certainly felt like Christmas!

Just around the corner from Oxford Street, Regent Street were also holding their own celebrations and various events for their Christmas lights to be turned on. Last Saturday, Regent Street was live and kicking from as early as 1.pm. The entire street was closed off and only foot flow traffic was allowed for the occasion. Although earlier that evening, just before the lights were to be switched on, barriers were put up (I deem this was all in order to control the crowd). However, the distance in which the barriers were placed made it difficult for some people to see and feel as if they were a part of the celebration. Whilst I understand why security measures like such should be taken. I consider that in this particular case, it defeated the objective of allowing the public to feel as if they were a part of the celebration.

Regent Street provide a live fashion show which consisted of various famous brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Jaeger and Brooks Brothers. There was also live carol singing outside the ‘Liberty’ store from an amazing talented choir. This was followed by drinks and compliments that were provided in a number of stores throughout Regent Street where a live DJ would be playing jams to help you get into the groove.

‘Mr Peabody and Sherman’ is the new 20th century Fox Dreamworks animated film that was the inspiration and the theme behind the lights and decorations on Regents Street. Emma Bunton and Jamie Theakston were the hosts for the night. But it was Ty Burrell, actor and Emmy award winner who is the voice of ‘Mr Peabody’ and Tim Minkoff who is a Hollywood film director (also directed Disney’s Lion King) who had turned on the Regent Streets lights. But it was not before a few live performance from some very talented and gifted artist. Eliza Doolittle and Leona Lewis gracefully took the stage and blessed the crowd with their talent and beauty. Shortly after, it was show time. As the countdown begun and everyone shouted down the seconds together, it was absolutely breathtaking to watch the themed lights light up the streets.

As Christmas is just around the corner, let’s get ready for all the festive activities, events and adventures that will be taking place all over London. Like I said, ‘London is known to be a beautiful and magical place over winter’. So get your warm coats, your big scarves, gloves and all the rest and get out there. Have some fun and make some unforgettable memories.

Ireland: Nigerian Socialite Taiwo Jamani Dies After Attack By Business Partner

    3

A Nigerian socialite and businessman based in Ireland died yesterday November 13 as a result of the injuries he sustained when he was attacked on Main Street in Swords, north Dublin by one of his business associate.

Taiwo Jamani, aged 45 years, died in Beaumont Hospital where he was receiving treatment after he was injured in an incident with a baseball bat on October 10, 2013.

His 37-year-old business associate, Jooda Akanbi with an address in Swords, is currently being held before the courts in relation to the assault on Taiwo.

The attack occurred in broad daylight on Main Street in the north Dublin town at about 12.20pm before an ambulance took Jamani to a hospital in Beaumont.

Jamani is a human resource specialist and is the owner of a Data Link Company based in Dublin. He suffered severe injuries to his back and neck after the attack from Jooda Akabi. According to the account an eye witness gave to the Irish police, the two men started their row by shouting at each other. It then progressed to pushing and shoving…

“I think one was waiting for the other because the boot of his car was open and there were two bats in it even before the fight began. Then the man with the bat held it high over his head and brought it down hard on the other man’s head and he just slumped to the ground. It was shocking. It’s not something you expect to see,” the eye witness told the police.

Nigeria Leads The World In Criminal Enterprises: Ann Coulter

    0

A few weeks after US Senator Cruz said Nigerian email scammers were recruited to rum the Obamacare care website in a bid to ridicule it, an American journalist has written an article to reaffirm the Senator’s views.

“Have you all noticed, you know the Nigerian email scammers?” Cruz asked the crowd at a Houston rally. “They’ve been a lot less active lately, because they’ve all been hired to run the Obamacare websites,” the Senator added.

Senator Cruz later apologised for making such a statement after several calls and emails to his office to let him know the Nigerian community in the US were offended by his statement.

In an article titled, “to speak to a Nigerian Prince about your healthcare, press ‘1’ now, Ann Coulter says foreign criminals are employed to run the Obamacare website and that the majority of them are from Nigeria. See below, an excerpt of her article.

This week we found out that the tens of thousands of “navigators” hired by the government to enroll people in Obamacare will include convicted felons.

Despite some “navigators” having already been exposed as having arrest warrants against them, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has no plans to screen out the criminals.

The problem isn’t their complexion, it’s their culture. In America, we think only dumb people become criminals. That’s not true in the Third World!

Nigeria, for example, leads the world in criminal enterprises. Every level of Nigerian society is criminal, with the smart ones running Internet scams, the mid-range ones running car theft rings, and the stupid ones engaging in piracy and kidnapping. At the University of Lagos, you can major in credit card fraud.

There were almost no Nigerians in the United States until the 1970s. Today, there are nearly 250,000 Nigerians in the U.S. (committing the cyber-crime Americans just won’t do!). In 2011, we took in more immigrants from Nigeria than from the United Kingdom (9,246 from the U.K. and 9,344 from Nigeria).
