A few days after American singer, K Michelle broke down in tears while talking about her 8-month relationship with British actor Idris Elba on the Ellen De Generes Show, a fan posted a tweet on Twitter saying Elba has low standards for dating Michelle.

The fan, @riridwag tweeted: “I think it’s safe to say we all have a chance with @idriselba his standards are pretty low.”

Two days ago, the “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” star broke the silence by replying the fan. While it was not with so many words, the London-born actor whose mother is a Ghanaian and father a Sierra Leonean replied the follower in a classic way by using a smiley face and a Santa Claus image.

Idris Elba has two children. His was once married to Kim Elba with whom they have a daughter named Isan. She was born in 2002. In 2014, the 42-year-old actor’s second child and first son were given birth to by girlfriend, Naiyana Garth. He was named Winston.

Jennifer Aniston is the cover girl of the January issue of Allure magazine. In an interview with the magazine, the actress talked about many things that included unfair motherhood expectations and one-sided judgement the society have placed on her and several other women like her for not having kids. Apart from the interview, the actress went topless for a photo shoot with her longtime hairstylist and pal Chris McMillan.

The “Cake” star, who has already earned a Golden Globe nomination, as well as early Oscar buzz for her role, said it is unfair that people put so much pressure on women about motherhood and consider them to be a failure if they are unable to accomplish having a baby. “I don’t like [the pressure] that people put on me, on women — that you’ve failed yourself as a female because you haven’t procreated,” Aniston explained. “I don’t think it’s fair.”

Speaking about how motherhood is not only restricted to when a woman carries a baby in her womb and actually birth it, the “Friends” star said: “You may not have a child come out of your vagina, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t mothering — dogs, friends, friends’ children,” she added.

On how her fans and many have accused her of not wanting to be a mother because she’s so career driven to take off some time to get pregnant, have kids and nurse them, Ms Aniston said: “This continually is said about me: that I was so career-driven and focused on myself; that I don’t want to be a mother, and how selfish that is,” she said. And apparently, those barbs still sting. “Even saying it gets me a little tight in my throat.”

Speaking about actor-director Justin Theroux to whom she’s been engaged to and how proud she’s of him, the 45-year-old Hollywood actress said: “I’m so proud of him. We have so much fun together,” she told Allure. “It was nice to learn how to sort of relinquish control and let someone really care deeply for you. It’s quite wonderful.”

Holland based Nigerian singer Maheeda is getting more desperate for attention in her bid to break the internet. The Nigerian singer who says she’s Naija’s bad girl as well as the Goddess of X has been posting nude photos after another.

Her latest nude collection is a Christmas theme and the nude model has all her nips out there for all to see. In an interview with Encomium magazine Nigeria, the mother of one who is married to a Dutch man and relocated to the Netherlands about two years ago says she’s putting out her naked photos as a means to promote her music career.

She also said her husband is not bothered about the fact that she shares her naked pictures on the internet but actually supports her. This is not the first time Maheeda is sharing indecent photographs using a religious theme. Last year, she she shared some indecent photographs in which she was dressed like a nurse and received a lot of backlash from her fans and many people.

But the self acclaimed “Goddess of X” is unperturbed by what anyone has to say. they more criticism she gets, the more provocative her photos get.

Gruesome: Cameroonian Mother Cuts Off 3-Year-Old Son’s Penis

They say a mother’s love knows no bound. But the kind of abuse and crime some mothers commits against their children will make evil the devil to be ashamed. A 30-year-old mother is alleged to have cut off the sex organs of her 3-year-old son in Manengole, Nkongsamba, in Cameroon. The innocent child named Njankep Alexandre is presently in a protestant hospital in Doungue under intensive care. The incident took place on Saturday the 29th of November 2014.

According to Andre Ghomsi, a nurse at the Doungue hospital where the child is currently being treated in an intensive care unit, Nadesh K admitted to committing the gruesome mutilation on her son and said the removed part of the penis has been thrown into a stream.

The child was rushed to the hospital by a neighbour named Claude Tankeu who came after the act had been committed. The Gendarmerie says Nadege K. is a mother of four who has been epileptic since she was ten. She became mentally unstable due to her poor health condition and has been receiving assistance from her mother, Maman Helen.

Nadege K. is currently in police custody while awaiting her trial. According to her, she committed the gruesome crime against her innocent son because she wanted to warn the father of her four children of his parental responsibilities, the Cameroonweb reports.

A similar incident took place in China last month when a cruel aunt cut off the penis of her 3-year-old nephew because he burst in on her while she was in the loo and asked to use her phone. The aunt, Xue Paan stormed into the kitchen, picked up a knife, and hacked off the little boy’s penis.The victim, Qiang Qiang was lucky as the doctors were able to re-attach the appendage in an emergency procedure. The 37-year-old aunt is currently in police detention and now faces 5 years in jail, reports the Daily Mail.

Nigerian becomes first black woman to graduate with a first class degree from the University of Reading UK

Anita Osariemen Omonuwa from Edo-state has achieved a feat that has never been attained in the 122 years of existence of UK institution, University of Reading. She graduated with a First Class degree in Law from the university which is rated among the top 1% in the world.

She was among the students who got the “Chancellors Award” by the Chancellor of the University, Sir John Madejski, who happens to be the founder of AutoTrader and Chairman of Reading Football Club.

She actually graduated from Reading in 2012 but just finished from the Nigerian Law School.

She graduated from the Nigerian Law School last month with a first class again and has also emerged as the very first Nigerian to graduate in the Bar final examinations from overseas with a First Class, Bachelor of Laws degree ever since the Nigerian Law school was established 51 years ago.

Anita is actually learning from her father, Mr. Omoruyi Augustine Omonuwa, OFR who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Other prizes that Anita Omonuwa has won include the Clarks Legal Prize for best performance in Part 2; Equity and Trust, presented by David Rintoul; the Managing Partner, Keith Wright Memorial Prize for best overall performance in Part 2; the Shoosmiths Prize for best overall performance in Part 2; and the Boinime Jackson Lott Foundation Prize.

Lupita Nyong’o And David Oyelowo To Star In Chimamanda Adichie’s Americanah

According to reports by Variety, Oscar-winning actress and “12 Years A Slave” star Lupita Nyong’o and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo are to star in the film adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’s Americanah novel.

Americanah tells the story of Ifemelu and Obinze, a pair who left Nigeria for the United States of America and the United Kingdom, respectively. The pair faced a lifetime of struggle as immigrants while their relationship endured.

Lupita was already part of the film’s cast since June. Still, Oyelowo was recently added to it after starring in Interstellar, A Most Violent Year, and Selma, for which he has been nominated for a Golden Globe award.

The Mexican-born actress said about the project: “It is such an honour to have the opportunity to bring Ms Adichie’s brilliant book to the screen.” Nyong’o continued, “Page after page, I was struck by Ifemelu and Obinze’s stories, whose experiences as African immigrants are so specific and imminently relatable. It is a thrilling challenge to tell a truly international story full of love, humour and heart.”

Brad Pitt will produce the film through his Plan B production banner along with Andrea Calderwood and Lupita Nyong’o. The film is now looking to attach a writer and director with no production start date yet, reports Variety.

Ugandan Maid Receives 4 Years For Beating Baby Mercilessly

Jolly to serve her jail term in Luzira Prison

The woman from hell Ugandan maid who was captured on security cameras while beating, slapping, kicking and stomping on an 18 months old baby has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for assault on a child. The gory footage was uploaded to the internet by the child’s father, Eric Kamanzi who later beat the nanny to a pulp after reviewing it.

Jolly Tumuhiirwe was sentenced by a high court in Kampala after pleading guilty to the crime of assault last week. Other charges against the maid were dropped by the court – including that of torture that would have made sure she receives nothing less than 10 years.

While reading the sentence to Jolly this morning Monday, December 15th, the magistrate said she has taken the time to analyze both parties submissions (defense and prosecution) and consider the fact that the accused is full of regret for what she has done and has taken it upon herself to apologize.

“I have also taken note of the requests by both the complainant (parents of the baby) and the convict (Ms Tumuhiirwe). The convict pleaded guilty and apologised to the parents. She also appeared remorseful. However, I did not consider the reason she gave for assaulting the child,” said the magistrate.

However, the judge finds the reason the 22-year-old Jolly Tumuhiirwe beat the innocent child mercilessly to near death to be unjustifiable.

“No amount of mistreatment of an adult to another should justify the kind of brutality exhibited by the convict upon a young, innocent, helpless, defenseless child. It is for this reason that I find the aggravating circumstances much stronger than the mitigating facts. Therefore, the convict is hereby given a four-year jail term in Luzira Prison,” the Chief Magistrate said.

Gunman Take Over Australian Cafe With No Less Than 15 Hostages

A gunman stormed a cafe in central Sydney yesterday during morning rush hour and no fewer than 15 people were taken hostage by him. The hostages were then forced to hold up a black flag with white writing in Arabic, an emblem linked to terror groups. Three men and two women were able to make it out of the Lindt cafe in Sydney’s Martin Place unharmed. According to an eye witness, the gunman became “extremely” agitated after realizing 5 people successfully escaped the cafe under his watch.

When it got darker last night, food was seen being served to the hostages from the cafe’s kitchen. The lights in the cafe were reported to have went out but the police have declined to confirm whether they were the ones that cut the power supply from the building or not. At the moment, no injuries have been recorded and the police commandant has promised they’ll be patient and make sure the siege is resolved without getting violent.

The drama started on Sunday morning at around 9.30 am when the gunman stormed the cafe, brought out his gun from a blue carry bag to intimidate the people and disabled access to the cafe’s door. The targeted cafe is located in one of Sydney’s busiest plazas in the central business district.

A number of police men were immediately sent to the location to take control of the situation. The police went to action and evacuated surrounding buildings as well as closing off part of the city. The incident has sent shock-waves across Australia as terrorist attacks in the country are very rare.
