In an era where even non-celebrities are retouching their photos before posting them on social platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, supermodel and 49-year-old Cindy Crawford allowed her raw image to be in a magazine feature with all the flaws and imperfections. This is something uncommon in the glossy and glamorous beauty and fashion world where models are made to look like they are perfect and not the same as normal everyday people.
In a December 2013 issue of Marie Claire, supermodel and mother of two, Cindy Crawford allowed her unretouched photo to be used as part of the editorial. In the photo, Cindy who was 47 at the time, was dressed in a matching lingerie set and completed the sexy look with a fur coat and a hat.
In 1995, she was named the highest paid model on the planet by Forbes magazine. The unretouched lingerie-clad photo of the American model and ex-wife of actor, Richard Gere was shared on Twitter yesterday where it went viral with many giving it the thumbs up and calling on other celebrities to follow suit.
Below is the unretouched photo of lingerie-clad Cindy Crawford that went viral on Twitter and the retouched version of the same photo. placed side by side.
The recent development of a terrorist funded state in the Middle Eastern nations of Syria and Iraq has highlighted the pressing need for international cooperation in the region in order to remove such malignant threats to world peace. In the same time frame, the growth of an “America First” energy policy among conservatives in our country has put the spotlight on domestic development of energy resources to counteract our dependence on oil and other energy sources from foreign nations.
Fossil Fuels Remain Finite
It should be understood by all who read this that, despite the best efforts of the United States to marshal and conserve its reserves of natural gas, oil, and other energy resources, their supply remains as finite as ever. If consumption remains unchecked at its present levels, even our most secret emergency reserves will run out. The time for alternative energy solutions is coming, and not a moment too soon.
But what will those solutions consist of? International experts, such as Daniel Yergin, who is the author of such best-selling studies as The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World, believe that the future of sustainable energy is intimately tied up with the geopolitical future of the human race.
The reliance of American industry upon foreign energy sources, such as natural gas and oil, is bound to continue into the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, it must be understood that the United States is coming into competition with other contenders for these same very finite energy resources. For example, China is using just as much, if not more, of these same reserves of fossil fuel to feed its burgeoning economy. Other nations are pressing their own claims.
While the search for sustainable, non-finite, energy sources continues apace, the present reality means that the United States is pressed to use diplomacy and ingenuity in its efforts to maintain a continuous supply of the resources it needs to keep its economy ongoing. Meanwhile, other nations are hard pressed to do the same for their own citizens. As a result, this competition for limited resources is fuelling more than its share of misunderstandings and potential flash points all across the globe.
Conserving And Controlling Energy Reserves
As a result of continued unease and covert competition among the major consumers of the world’s resources, energy security is more precarious than ever. The attempt to ease these pressing concerns by discovering alternative sources of energy, such as solar and wind energy, continues apace, but at a relatively slow one.
Adding to the ever growing concern over reserves of fuel running out is the potential apocalypse posed by drastic climate change. As a result, the need to not only control and conserve, but also carefully regulate the use of, our limited fossil fuel resources has added yet another layer of anxiety to the overall picture.
The Future Lies In Clean, Sustainable Energy
In the end, the only practical solution to the growing competition and unrest must be to discover viable sources of clean, sustainable energy. Whether the destiny of the free world lies in the discovery of clean and inexhaustible energy remains to be seen. However, the forces that are shaping up on the horizon of geopolitics seem visibly connected with the outcome of this noble goal.

Al Jazeera launches #iRefugee campaign and calls for refugees to submit videos and images. The campaign, set to go live on 15 February 2015
Starting on 15 February 2015, Al Jazeera’s #iRefugee social media campaign will put the focus firmly on the experience of refugees around the world.
Al Jazeera is calling on refugees to post an image or video of themselves on social media holding up a placard with the hashtag #iRefugee on it. Refugees are welcome to say or write where they are from, where they are seeking refuge or asylum, what they miss about home, or a message to other refugees, provided that the video is no longer than 15 seconds and/or the text is easily readable on the placard in their image.
The #iRefugee campaign will build up to the launch of Life on Hold, a web documentary highlighting the plight of ten Syrian refugees in neighbouring Lebanon, which is currently hosting an estimated two million Syrian refugees, of whom only half are registered. Unlike Jordan, Turkey and Egypt, the Lebanese government has forbidden UN agencies from setting up formal refugee camps. Syrians have had to seek shelter wherever they can find it: in makeshift tented settlements, re-purposed factories, empty hospitals, and even former prisons.
The first phase of Life on Hold will launch on 15 March 2015, the four-year anniversary of the Syrian crisis that has claimed the lives of more than 100,000 people and laid waste to towns and cities, displacing millions of their inhabitants.
To participate, please use the hashtag #iRefugee from 15 February 2015.
Khloé Kardashian may have worked with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) to campaign against the use of fur, but with the look of things, her elder and most famous sister is certainly not ready for such.
The reality TV star and wife of rapper, Kanye West was photographed with her daughter wearing expensive and glamorous fur coats as they returned to their New York home after attending her husband’s fashion show with Adidas yesterday.
According to popular American gossip website Media Take Out (MTO), US-based Cameroonian pop star and business woman Dencia spent about $100 on implants, butt shots and skin bleaching products just to look like Nicki Minaj.
Dencia who has a line of skin bleaching products became famous last year when she started her Whitenicious brand and had a clash with award winning Mexican-born Kenyan star, Lupita Nyong’o.
A few days ago, she attended the Grammys Award where a young man known on Twitter as @EricZolanski saw her photo and tweeted he’ll kill himself if that was Dencia. And of course, the “Beri, Beri” singer replied urging him to go along as long as he had taken life insurance.
Below is what MTO is saying about the star.
“Two years ago, West African singer Dencia was a brown skinned thin beauty – with a great voice. Well she changed that all up. First she bleached her skin – and opened up a new line of skin products, called Whitenicious.
She’s now undergone massive reconstructive breast and booty surgeries – in an attempt to “look like Nicki Minaj.”
What do you think . . . Did she accomplish her goal. She looks very fraudulent to us… But we know how some of y’all like ish like that!!!
American singer, songwriter, and actress, Pink goes nude for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign. Born Alecia Beth Moore, Pink is the latest celebrity to feature in PETA’s campaign against the use of animal fur for making clothing.
The 90-foot PETA billboard is placed at the New York City’s Times Square. Another one will be erected on 42nd Street, between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue on Wednesday night – the eve of New York Fashion Week. The nude photo was taken by photographer Ruven Afanador.
“I would like to say I’ve always been fur-free,” the 35-year-old told E! in a statement about the campaign. “Unfortunately, I went through a selfish phase and wore fur on a couple of occasions. But I wised up and now boycott fur completely. I wish everyone was forced to learn the horrors that these animals go through for fashion trends. I hope fur-wearers get bitten in the ass by the same kind of animal they wear on their back,” she added.
“I’ve always felt that animals are the purest spirits in the world,” the “There You Go” singer told Us Weekly. “They don’t fake or hide their feelings, and they are the most loyal creatures on Earth.”
Other celebrities that had previously participated in PETA’s campaign against the use of fur are, Khloé Kardashian, Bethenny Frankel, Joanna Krupa, Holly Madison, Nia Long, Olivia Munn, Wendy Williams, Eva Mendes, and Christian Serratos.
A woman who cannot handle the fact she was unmarried and childless at 30 committed suicide. Rachel Gow killed herself a few days to her 30th birthday by drinking poison. According the reports, Gow had always wanted to be married and have her own family before she turned 30. When she was unable to achieve that dream – she felt other family members were doing better than her and decided it was time to end her life.
The woman, who worked as a Hospital administrator was afraid her boyfriend Anton Tsvarev, who is also 30 will leave her and sent him a test message that read: “all the best for the future” before taking her own life. According to her family, Miss Gow had suffered 3 break ups before meeting Tsarev.
“She had three breakups before her relationship with Anton. Her greatest wish was to settle down and get married,” said a statement read to the Burnley hearing by Rachel’s brother Stephen Best and her sister Sarah Davidson.
Mr Tsvarev who had been visiting a friend later found Miss Gow but she died despite attempts by him to revive her.
