No less than 15 people have been deprived of their British citizenship under Section 56 of the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006, Immigration Minister Damian Green has said.
The Act came into force on June 16 2006.
In a written answer to Mr. Sajid Javid, MP for Bromsgrove, Mr. Green said that five of the 15 who have been deprived of their British citizenship had been British since birth.
Mr. Javid sought to know how many times the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 has been used to deprive a person of British citizenship; and how many such people were British-born citizens.
