Brides of Culture (BoC) Autumn Wedding Exhibition

    BY LAUREN STOPPS

On Saturday 8 September 2012, the Brides of Culture autumn free wedding exhibition took place and as its media partner, AfroCosmopolitan was there to cover the event. Below is some of the interesting exhibitors that were present.

The Brides of Culture (BoC) autumn wedding exhibition provided an invaluable insight into the ever-growing possibilities for AfroCarribean brides looking to plan their own one-of-kind wedding day.

The BoC exhibition, which was held last Saturday (8th October) at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in London Docklands, gave brides the chance to see just how easy it is to plan their dream wedding by presenting them with a range of unique services tailored towards creating a wedding with a cultural twist!

On hand during the day were Cherish Events alongside SN Travel, their designated travel agent, in order to offer couples a bespoke wedding ceremony in Jamaica. Exhibitor for Cherish Events, Helen Watson said: ‘It’s important to be completely indispensable to the bride so she can be stress-free. We exhibit alongside SN Travel who provide flights to make planning as simple and enjoyable as possible’.

One exhibitor showcasing her bespoke bridal and evening gowns on the day was Kemi Farquarson. As a new designer, Kemi embraces the opportunity to engage with brides-to-be as well as other exhibitors. She said: “The organisers have put on a fabulous show and I’m honored to exhibit at BoC, one of the largest multicultural bridal shows in the UK.

‘As a plus size bridal designer, it is always great to meet brides to be and offer them a bespoke service that will not only reflect their culture but provide them with elegant gowns that also accentuates their curves’.

For the bride looking to keep slim, or find a way to relax as the big day draws near, there was even an opportunity to have a go at trying some yoga! Kemi Yoga was actively exhibiting their different yoga packages throughout the day including yoga boot-camp, yoga parties, one-off yoga, and yoga at home.

These are just a few examples illustrating the variety of exhibitors on show. Other stalls offered cake & food tasting, wedding photography services, venue decorating and much more! Each service was limited to three exhibitors to allow visitors to experience a wide-ranging selection.

Guests also had the chance to take part in unique master-classes given by wedding industry experts.

Brides of Culture have been hosting bridal exhibitions for several years now and aspires to be the largest Multicultural Bridal Exhibition in the UK. You’ll almost definitely walk away with tonnes of inspiration and new ideas as well as a free goody bag full of information and contacts so you’ll know who to call.
