A Texas based couple who traveled to Nigeria for their Christmas vacation as well as to attend the funeral rites of a relative have been killed by armed robbers. Mr and Mrs Don and Nkem Okoro were on their way to their village where the burial will be taking place when they met their death. The incident and brutal killing of the couple and their young and innocent two-year old niece took place along the Benin-Onitsha high way.
Other reports has it that the couple were not killed by the robbers but by a ghastly accident that occurred while they were trying to avoid the robbery attack.
Reacting to their death, the Nigerian community in Houston says their regrettable death happened because the country is not security conscious. The Texas Based Nigerian couple is survived by five children.
