Whilst the main reason for Solange’s vicious attack on her brother in law Jay Z still goes unknown, it is now clear to state that the actions of designer Rachel Roy were just one of those reasons.
Designer Rachel Roy aged 40 is the ex-wife to Jay-Z ex-business partner, Damon Dash. It is fair to say that Rachel and Jay-Z are no strangers to one another – so it’s understandable that the two would be engaging in polite conversation throughout the night. However, Solange felt as if the two were having one polite conversation too many and warned Rachel about doing so,” anyone who gets close to Jay has to be warned and deal with me as a sister”. Throughout the course of the Star-Studded New York event, Rachel appeared to be hovering around Jay-Z and this did not sit right with the Knowles’. The New York Daily News was informed by an insider that “Rachel is a little too close to Jay Z, Solange doesn’t like it, and Beyonce doesn’t like it.” The insider also added, “Rachel is combative and a tough girl, she didn’t back down”.
It is clear that Rachel did not take Solange’s warning serious. This is evident to the argument that the two had that was broken up by 44-year-old Rapper Jay-Z and Beyonce, 32. Following that argument, Jay Z told Solange that she was “out of line for mouthing off to Roy”. Now, if you ask me this was just fuel to fire Solange’s already erupting volcano of emotions.

Shortly after, both Jay-Z, wife Beyonce and sister Solange decided to leave the party. Now, I am sure we have all seen the footage, but what we did not see or rather what we did not hear is Jay-Z stating that he wanted to continue partying alone and that he was going to be doing so at Rihanna’s after party. Just as if that alone was not enough, it was to Solange’s knowledge that Rachel would also be attending Rihanna’s after party.
And that was it, Solange had finally had enough and exploded. Whilst many may say her actions were wrong and unforgivable – Damon Dash openly stuck up for Solange’s actions and he did so via Instagram. The former rapper posted up a picture of Solange and his teenage daughter, captioned: “I forgot about this …. I am actually impressed with her independent spirit, she seems like a fighter”. However, he was not the only one who had something to say, Rachel added to the furore via twitter by promoting her clothing line and writing “The Beach is Better”. Now, if you are a Jay-Z fan – you would know that was the title of one of many of Jay Z’s tracks in 2007.
It has already been stated that Beyonce left in the same car as her sister Solange. Mmmmm, I wonder if Jay-Z did attend Rihanna’s after-party, after all, was Rachel there too?
