    The 2016 edition of the Grammys took place last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by 48-year-old American rapper and actor LL Cool J (real name: James Todd Smith).

    Kendrick Lamar was one of the biggest winners at this year’s edition. The American rapper from Compton, California – won awards for the Best Rap Performance, the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, the Best Rap Song, and the Best Rap Album.

    Taylor Swift also won awards for the Best Music Video which featured Kendrick Lamar. The 26-year-old American singer-songwriter also the received the Best Pop Vocal Album of the year, and the Album of the Year.

    Beninese-born singer-songwriter and activist, Angélique Kidjo won the Best World Album award while the Orchestra, “The Afro Latin Jazz Suite”
    MusiCares Person of the Year” award went to legendary American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer – Lionel Richie.
