President Obama Wins Second Term As President Of The United States

President Obama WinsSecond Term As President Of The United StatesVictory for the Democrats as President Obama wins second term with a majority. When results started coming up, Romney seemed to likely be the winner as he was slightly ahead of Obama. However, Romney’s victory did not last long as Obama took over and immediately overtook him with almost a million votes.

At the end of the polls, Obama emerged the winner of Virginia giving him 303 electoral votes while Romney had only 206. That made Obama win 33 seats than what was needed to become the President of the United States.

In the U.S., having a majority of the votes does not decide the winner of a presidential election. What does is the number of electoral state votes of which 270 of the 509 are needed to be declared the winner.
