Naomi Campbell Lands A Major Acting Role In Empire

British supermodel Naomi Campbell has landed herself a juicy offer, but it’s not going to be on the runway. The black model will be taking some time off the runway.

Naomi, who began her modelling career at the age of 15 is taking a break from the catwalk to go into screen acting in a Lee Daniels’ drama titled as “Empire”. The highly anticipated drama has cast the 44-year-old super model as tempress Camilla.

Naomi will have a recurring role in the Drama and will be in steaming relationship with a younger man who is the heir potential heir to his father’s hip-hop empire.

The drama is focused on a couple who is divorced but run a hip-hop record company. The role of the divorced couple will be played by Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.

Terrence Howard is an American actor, songwriter, record producer as well as singer. He has been featured in many prominent movies that includes August Rush, Lackawanna Blues, Get Rich or Die Tryin, Winnie, Ray, Crash, Four Brothers, Idlewild, The Brave One, and several other movies.

Born in 1970, Taraji P. Henson is an American actress and singer. She popularly known for 2008 role in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” where she played the role of Queenie. She was nominated “Best Supporting Actress” for the 2009 edition of the Academy Awards.

While this is the biggest role the supermodel has received as an actress, this is not the first time she’s trying her hands at acting. Naomi has previously showed how acting skills by taking on smaller roles in Spike Lee’s Girl 6 and The Cosby Show.

Naomi is so excited and finds it an honour to be be joining the acting elites that have worked with Daniels in the past.

“It’s an honour to follow in the footsteps of actresses like Halle Berry, Oprah, Gabourey Sidibe and Mo’Nique, and work with Lee Daniels,” the black model. “I’m looking forward to joining Lee and this amazing cast on set,” she added.
