My 5 Essential Winter Beauty Products

These are my essential winter beauty products to nourish and pamper my skin and shame the cold weather for being too harsh on it.

As winter is around the corner! It’s time to start picking our essential winter beauty products for this cold and harsh season. No matter how soft and nourished our natural skin might be, the unforgiving winter weather can be very hostile to our skin, hair and even nails.

Add that to the fact that we are constantly keeping our homes and places of work warm with the help of a radiator. Yes, the dry heat from our radiators can really dry up our skin. For the skin to fight against the roughness it receives during this season, it needs a lot of attention, nourishing and pampering. As a result, there are 5 essential winter beauty products that I always have ready, to give my body the kind of special treatment that it deserves. See them below:

    Green Tea

My 5 Essential Winter Beauty Products

“Studies have found an association between consuming green tea and a reduced risk of several cancers, including, skin, breast, lung, colon, oesophagal, and bladder,” wrote the Harvard Health Publication.

And there is more. One of the major health reasons for drinking a lot of green tea during wintertime is its ability to reduce body fat. Since we tend to stay indoors a lot during this season, it is a very dangerous period to accumulate fat. And if you are not visiting the gym frequently, the fat can accumulate fast and make one grow out of shape or even become obese. Besides, because we tend to put on bulky clothes during wintertime, there is a danger we’ll only notice the changes in our body after piling up an immense amount of weight.

To make sure my green tea provides me with all the benefits it has to offer, I make sure I drink a minimum of 3 glasses per day.

    Lip Cream

Sometimes, the winter season can be so harsh that it will end up drying your lips to the extent that it starts to peel. No one wants to have chapped lips. They can be unattractive and even painful. And for a lady, it is a no.

As a result, I always make sure I have my lip cream ready and well prepared for these harsh months. My number one lip moisturiser for this season is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm SPF 20. It’s a bit on the high side as it cost about £18.00 for a 15ml tube. But it works like magic. And a little can go a long way.

    Water

I’m sure a lot of you must have gotten this recommendation from a doctor, a dietician, or a friend. This is because, while water is a necessity to quench our daily thirst, it is more than just that. As the harsh winter weather and heating appliances dry up our skin, drinking a lot of water can help to moisturise it and also helps in maintaining its suppleness and elasticity.

    Moisturising Body Wash

My 5 Essential Winter Beauty Products

I am a fan of Dove body wash product range. And I have used a variety of them. I started using Dove body wash product range since I found out they were more natural than the other soaps you can find in the normal shops. And it has been good to my skin.

For the winter months, I tend to go for the Dove Triple Moisturising Beauty Care Body Wash. This is because; they promise it does three different things for your skin. This means, it does not only cleanse your body, but keeps the moisture locked into the skin, and then helps softens and retains its natural moisture. What else can my body ask for in a body cleanser?

    Silicone-based Eyeliner

Sometimes, the cold winter wind can make our eyes wet and teary. As a result, I tend to go for a silicone-based eyeliner. The reason I go for them is because they can be water repellent. Since I am not dressing up for Halloween, I prefer eyeliners that will stay where they were used and not one that will run over my face when the tears start rolling.

Thus, those are my 5 essential winter beauty products. They work for me. They might work for other people and they might not as we all have different skin texture.
