Lupita Nyong’o’s $150k Pearl Oscar dress Stolen From Her Hotel Room

According to a report by TMZ, Mexican-born Lupita Nyong’o’s $150k Pearl Oscar dress was stolen from her Hollywood hotel room. The custom Calvin Klein halter dress with an open back was designed by Francisco Costa and featured 6,000 white Akoya pearls.

The “12 Years A Slave Star” told the police the expensive dress was stolen from her room around 8:00am and 21:009 on Wednesday February 25th while se was out, the report by TMZ says.

The 31-year-old actress and award winning star wore the dress to the 87th edition of the Academy Awards ceremony that was held on Sunday 22nd February 2015.

Confirming the unfortunate incident, the hotel said: “This is a terribly unfortunate situation, and we are working with law enforcement on their investigation.”
