Lupita Nyong’o, Chimamanda Adichie, Late Stella Adadevoh and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Makes CNN’s Leading Women 2014 List

Four black and African women made it on CNN’s list of Leading Women 2014. Kenyan actress and “12 Years A Slave” star Lupita Nyong’o who shot to fame after receiving multiple awards for her supporting role in the slave film, as well as Nigerian novelist and “Americanah” writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who has contributed to the growth of African Literature are two of the young African women that were recognized by the international media house and Cable News Network (CNN).

Another African woman that was recognized is the late Nigerian Doctor Stella Adadevoh who made a significant contribution towards the prevention of the spread of the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria and lost her life in the process. The fourth black and African woman that was recognised by the media house is Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
