#JeSuisCharlie is currently trending on Twitter as French Satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, gets support from thousands of Twitter users after the massacre that took place at its office in Paris today.
The hashtag, which translates as ‘I am Charlie’ was started by journalists around the world an hour after the news of the terrorist attack that took the lives of 12 people and left 10 injured was announced.
The terror attack was carried out by three gunmen (it was previously reported that there were two gunmen) who stormed the magazine’s office and asked people’s name before killing them.
The hashtag “#JeSuisCharlie” has received thousands of re-tweets since it was started. The victims of the merciless execution includes four of the most famous cartoonists in France – men who had regularly satirized Islam and the Prophet Mohammed – as well as the newspaper’s editor-in-chief, Stephane Charbonnier.
