Grammy winning artist Jennifer Hudson paid tribute to Whitney Houston at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards that was organized in Los Angeles on February 12, 2012. An emotional version of “I Will Always Love You.” was performed by Jennifer Hudson in honour of the mega-platinum artist. The song was originally written by fellow Grammy award winner, Dolly Parton. Whitney Houston received two awards from the above mentioned song at the 36th Annual Grammy Awards that took place in1993. In addition, Houston received the best Record of the year title for the same song.
Furthermore, Jennifer Hudson and former American Idol finalist performed a tribute to the 48-year-old Houston. Jennifer Hudson was dressed in a sleek black gown to the event. She acknowledged the 2012 Grammy Awards played a part of condolence and respect for Whitney Houston.

Alicia Keys, Bonnie Raitt, host LL Cool J and other artists paid tribute to Whitney Houston. Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow and other famous Hollywood celebrities also acknowledge the artist during the show.
Whitney Houston died a day before the Grammy Awards were presented. The 48-year-old pop artist was found dead at a Beverly Hills, California hotel.
