Agbada is a Nigerian attire worn by men. But recently, Nigerian women have turned their attention to this attire and have made it stylish and trendy for women. Several Nigerian celebrities, socialites and fashionistas have been seen making a fashion statement with this attire exclusively worn by men.
The Agbada outfit is originally the traditional outfit of the Yoruba people of Nigeria (Yoruba is one of the major tribes/languages in Nigeria, and the indigenes inhibit the southern part of the country). With time, the Agbada became a typical Nigerian attire that was worn by all the various tribes in Nigeria. After so many years of being an exclusive men’s attire, Nigerian women have discovered it can also look good on women – and are now rocking it.
The Agbada outfit is usually made of a monotone coloured fabric, but some women also use colourful African print fabric. The outfit is usually completed with shoes ranging from low to high-heeled sandals, pumps, and peep toes.
Here is a look at some women who have been slaying this Nigerian attire.
