Gnostic Jungle: Africa Fashion Week London 2014

Gnostic Jungle is a distinctive London based footwear brand. The debut men’s collection is made up of 5 shoe variations and takes inspiration from culturally traditional textiles and present trends; influences which are visually apparent in the high-top sneaker design. The brand is owned by Danielle Gayle and Christopher Medford. Danielle, also an Aerospace Engineering student has always had a creative mind and an addiction to trainers. Christopher is a talented Graphic Designer with an eye for detail and also an avid trainer addict. Danielle has a background in the footwear industry which developed from her first brand ‘DG Divine Boutique’ which was formed in 2011 and was a great success; appearing at Africa Fashion Week in 2012 and even asked to appear at the first African Fashion Catwalk show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Although DG Divine was a growing business, it foreclosed in early 2013 so that Danielle could focus on her studies. She then decided to create Gnostic Jungle with business partner Chris on a larger scale, catering to an international market. Danielle is the entrepreneur in her circle of friends, her favourite food is chocolate and her favourite trainers in the collection are the Camden Mids. Christopher has a strong creative and business background having studied Graphic Design and being the owner of brand ‘Doomed MCMXC’, a creative agency and clothing company founded in 2011. Christopher would go back to the 90s if he could, his favourite group is Wu-Tang and his favourite trainers in the collection are the Newham Mids.
