Egyptian-Moroccan model Imaan Hammam was captured dripping in statement jewellery by Lachlan Bailey, for the August issue’s Opium du style jewellery editorial. East met West as the Dutch model channeled opulent luxe.
Although Imaan mother is from Morocco while his father is from Egypt, the model is a Dutch citizen as she was born and brought up in the capital city of Amsterdam.
On her Instagram (@hammamimaan) profile, she writes, “My mom is from Morocco—from the South, where people are much darker, and have [textured] hair, and my father is from Egypt. He doesn’t have any hair lately, but in his younger years, he had a big Afro”
The 17 years old model was discovered on the Central Station of Amsterdam by CODE Management in 2010.
In 2013, she was sent to Paris by her agency VIVA Model Management and she was given the privilege to open the show of Givenchy. Shortly after she was featured in consecutive issues of American, Italian and French Vogue.
