VIDEO: David Oyelowo On Being A Black Actor In Hollywood

In an interview with Charlie Rose on December 29th, 2014, British-Nigerian actor David Oyelowo talked about being a black actor in Hollywood and how he needs to work twice as much as his white colleagues to get the same result. David, who has been receiving great reviews for playing the role of Martin Luther King Junior in the new Hollywood movie, Selma is the rave of the moment when it comes to black celebrities in Hollywood. According to David, the minute one performer opens the door for other artists of colour, “it starts shutting unless there are more people coming through to blow the hinges off.”
