Take a look at these trendy African styles from Bisma Ahmed. The young Zimbabwean designer showcased her pieces at the recently concluded African Fashion Week London (AFWL). It is the first edition event and is meant to be a yearly event to give African designer a platform to showcase their work to a wider European public.
Bisma Ahmed, who is based in Dubai her inspiration to become a fashion designer started at an early age due to her exposure to a mother and an aunt that were in the fashion world. All Bisma has participated in a various fashion weeks events to showcase her work. Some of them are Dubai Fashion Week, Seattle Fashion Week and Zimbabwe Fashion Week.

African designers are taking their fashion to the world and Africa Fashion Week London is one one of the numerous platforms they are using to showcase their creations.
Gone are the days African designers were just tailors who made clothes that were not so flattering. As such, foreign ready to wear clothes were the best choice for African fashionistas. Today, the trend is changing.
Africa designers of today are using African prints, as well as combining it with several other fabric create beautiful styles.
