Yes, it is now official. Bow Wow and Erica Mena are engaged.
When the former child rapper changed his name three months ago from “Bow Wow” to his real name Shad Moss, no one knew he was preparing to become a family man and going for a name that is more suitable for a father and husband to be.
When the multitalented artist and performer made the announcement, he wrote on his Instagram page that his stage name no longer fits his status as a father, TV host, businessman, actor, and the rapper that he is. And just three months after the change, the 27-year-old rapper is now engaged to his girlfriend Erica Mena.
Bow Wow and Erica were into a very private relationship. The media was unaware of their relationship until a few months ago. The first time the couple were seen together and made their relationship public was in February at BET’s 106 & Park hosted by Bow Wow. There, the two lovebirds shared a kiss in front of the camera. And it was just like they were officially announcing their relationship to the world. On a few occasions, the couple have been seen making club appearances together.
After the engagement, the couple attended the 2014 edition of BET Hip Hop Awards together. The BET red-carpet event took place on Saturday September 20th. And while answering interview questions from red carpet reporter Jack Thriller, the Love & Hip-Hop Star confirmed she and Bow Wow have just been engaged.
To prove they were engaged, the couple posted a picture on Twitter showing off Erica’s bling engagement ring and Bow Wow’s bling wristwatch. They also used the opportunity in thanking their Twitter fans for their well wishes. See the photo below.
