Traditionally Black History Month (BHM) is celebrated in the USA in the month of February and in the UK in the month of October. However, even this month several events take place in London too. In continental Europe BHM has been celebrated for years, usually also in February. See former post on the BHM of the past years (2011, 2010, 2009).
While I don’t know about any events in the Latin countries (France, Italy, Spain and Portugal) centered around their respective black histories, black communities in the Netherlands and Germany have been celebrating BHM for years.
This month activities will take place in Berlin, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. If any of you guys knows about other events taking place for BHM in continental Europe, feel free to inform us through a comment.
Below I will give a short overview of BHM events in Berlin, Amsterdam and Rotterdam with their respective links.
