A former American soldier and aid worker Peter Kassig has been beheaded by the Islamist terror group ISIS. His killing was confirmed by the American government through a statement today after carefully examining a video released by ISIS alleging to show the beheading of the young man. The 26-year-old Peter Kassig is from Indianapolis. He was captured in eastern Syria on 1st October 2013 while delivering relief supplies to his aid group known as the Special Emergency Response and Assistance (SERA).
Before his beheading, his parents made a video appeal to his captors begging them to have mercy on their son and release him. But their pleading did not stop the terrorist from finally executing their son. In the video, the parents also said they were proud of what he was doing in Syria by helping those who were in need.
Kassig was previously spotted at the end of the video in which British hostage Alan Henning was killed. The news of his beheading came a few hours after it was reported that British Jihadi John had been injured in an air attack against IS in Iraq. He is the fifth foreigner to be beheaded by ISIS so far.
