#AFWA: The Netherlands Successfully Organise It’s First Africa Fashion Week

The Netherlands has successfully organised the first edition of its Africa Fashion Week. The who’s who in Africa design, entertainment, and business elite descended on Amsterdam on August 29 through 31 to witness three special days that were dedicated to the biggest African fashion show to have taken place in the country.

The event which took place at the Amsterdam World Fashion Centre was hosted by Nigerian actor, Ramsey Nouah, The event was also attended by Rosemary Kargbo, the winner of the 2013-2014 Miss Africa Netherlands.

Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam 2014 saw international designers from Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa, New York, Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon, Sudan, France, Gambia, Spain and much more – showcasing their work on the runway.

This is the first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam. The maiden edition was supposed to take place in 2013 but was cancelled due to lack of funding. This year, the event was finally put to motion after gaining huge support from sponsors and exhibitors.
