Nigerian Drug Mule Dies At Madrid Airport

It is a bad moment for Africans in Spain as the fear of Ebola has made Spanish airport authority team leave a Nigerian drug mule for his death. According to reports, several bags of the drugs the smuggler was carrying burst in his stomach and resulted to his body receiving an overdose. As a result, he started shivering and the airport staffs thought he had contracted the Ebola virus and was scared of touching him. He ended up dying as he was unable to receive the prompt assistance that could have helped save his life at the Madrid airport.

According to Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, the Nigerian drug mule flew from Istanbul to Madrid on October 18. He died after his arrival as a result of an accidental and massive drugs overdose. He was in the customs area of the airport when he collapsed on the floor and was shivering for about an hour as officials were scared of touching him, especially after confirming he was a Nigerian.

Speaking on how it was not possible he contacted the deadly virus from Nigeria, a passenger that accompanied the dead Nigerian told police  the man has not been to Nigerian in four years and actually flew from Madrid to Istanbul October 14 and was actually on his return back to the country. The incident in Madrid is alleged to have taken place on Saturday, October 18 2014 at about 17:00 Madrid time.

While the Nigerian man was hiding dangerous substance in his stomach and the amount of drugs he was exposed to at once could have meant he would have still ended up dying even if help was quick, it is scary to imagine there’ll be innocent people having a seizure, stroke, heart attack, or epilepsy that could be denied prompt assistance as a result of the fear of Ebola.
