After organising two successful events at Olympia London, Africa Fashion Week London is set to organise this year’s event at the same venue. At the moment, many African fashion designers and brands who create African-inspired pieces have register to showcase their collections at the biggest African fashion event in Europe.
This year, Nigerian afrobeat artiste, Yemi Alade, has been chosen as the brand ambassador to Africa Fashion Week London.
The two-day event will feature exclusive catwalk appearances from up-and-coming fashion designers, established designers and the best African models from the continent. Guests will also have the opportunity to browse hand-picked artisan accessories or buy distinctive fashions pieces from the best of the exhibitors.

One of the designers that will be showcasing at this year’s event is Laura Jane Fashions. The brand challenges itself by asking this simple question ‘What if one garment could form an entire wardrobe?’ Laura Jane Fashions recognises both African and British influences, combining culture and celebrating both styles.
Another African designer that will be showcasing at the yearly fashion event is Mary Martin London. Award winning fashion designer Mary Martin began a career in the music industry and enjoyed years of success as a vocalist and as an artist manager, but her passion for fashion continued to grow.
Today, Mary Martin’s collections have been gaining recognition as a go-to for looks on the red carpet and has been featured on shows such as Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model Catwalk Show, SKY’S Fashion TV, and has received international accolades including being honoured as the “Best Designer” at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival 2015 in Accra, Ghana out of forty-four designers.
