While Hollywood actress, Halle Berry has taken her ex-partner, Gabriel Aubry to court for trying to turn their daughter white – and Lupita Nyong’o is making strides and being celebrated worldwide is a beautiful dark-skinned woman, a 35-year-old Cameroonian woman is doing everything possible to change her dark skin to white and looking like a living ghost.

A picture shows the former Cameroonian model, Irene Major looking dark and beautiful. In another picture, she is seen looking sick and like a living ghost. Irene, who is married to a Canadian oil tycoon, Sam Malin, says she’s proud of her new pale and ghostly looking skin that was achieved through extreme bleaching.

The proud skin bleacher shared her before and after photos with the UK Daily Mail saying she looks more beautiful with lighter skin. “When my skin is lighter, I just feel prettier. It’s a taboo subject, and people get judgmental about it, but that’s how I feel,” she told the paper.

Speaking about how lighter-skinned women are considered to be prettier in Africa, Irene said, “A skin-lightening regimen has been part of my life practically since birth. There are many different types of African skin — from dark charcoal to a lighter version — and you grow up knowing that the lighter ladies are the prettier ones. It’s just a fact.”

Skin bleaching is becoming rampant among black women that videos and posts on how to lighten skin tone or lighter skin tone with fast results, receive massive traffic and views from women hoping to change their skin colour. These creams are labelled as skin toning cream, lighter skin tone cream, even tone skin cream, skin toning lotion, and several others. A few months ago, US-based Cameroonian singer, Dencia was all over the news for her Whitenicious skin bleaching cream.
