South Sudanese-American model, Ataui Deng walks the runway at Desigual fashion show during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2014 edition that recently ended. The fashion event took place at the Theatre at Lincoln Center on February 6, 2014, in New York City.

Ataui Deng is the niece of South Sudanese British model, Alek Wek. After strutting the runway in different floral dresses for Desigual, the black model was also seen holding a heart shaped board that read “Thanks from the Designers”. See more photos of Ataui Deng on the runway.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show is a series of international fashion weeks organised in several cities and is sponsored by German car making company, Mercedes-Benz and produced by IMG. TheMercedes-Benz Fashion shows have been organised in countries and cities such as Berlin, New York, Georgia, Miami, Istanbul, Mexico, Russia, Australia and many others.

    • Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Even though she looks a bit different and younger than Alek Wek, a majority of the media, including People and other media house made the same mistake. It is no excuse, by the way. And changes have been made to the post.
