International Women's Day: Celebrating Amanda Rabor & Hazel Chawapiwa

Tomorrow is March 8th, 2014, the world will be celebrating International Women’s Day, a celebration that has been observed since the early 1900’s. It was a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialised world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies. It is now just as relevant today as it was when it first started as a means to ensure greater gender equality and inclusion across the world. Until we can see there is total equality until gender is no longer an issue for women seeking equal pay for work and funding in business until the number of women on corporate boards is equal to those of their male counterparts, International Women’s Day is still necessary.

As part of this year’s International Women’s Day, we celebrate Amanda Rabor,  the CEO and Creative Designer of Isossy Children – as well as Hazel Chawapiwa, the co-founder of 2Inspire Network.

Isossy Children was founded by Amanda Rabor in 2010. Isossy Children is a celebration of colour, vivacity, global influences and fashion. It offers children and their parents’ choice, style and design, which is why many of the pieces are limited edition prints. Amanda has worked tirelessly to grow her business from scratch, earning international fashion acclaim along the way! Amanda’s passion and enthusiasm for her business is not only an inspiration but also an indication of what really is possible when one dares to dream.

Hazel Chawapiwa is a passionate business woman who started her first business in 1999 whilst studying at University. She often says the financial strains of being a young single mother and a student was the motivation for her to start her own business. A redundancy and the need to raise a deposit to get on the property ladder led to her becoming involved in a number of business ventures most notably The 2Inspire Network which is inspiring women from across the UK to truly live their best lives! Hazel continues to strive for the very best for herself and other women, inspiring us all to do better!
