Alfred Ajani, Nigerian Graduate Who Held At London Waterloo Now Marketing Executive

Alfred Ajani, the Nigerian graduate who made headlines by holding up a sign advertising his availability and to be given a chance to work at London’s Waterloo Station has been offered his dream job. The 22-year-old fresh graduate decided to do something different after applying for so many jobs without getting a job or an interview.

The marketing graduate from Coventry started work yesterday 8th September with a recruitment firm, The Asoria Group London. He was employed as the marketing executive of the company.

Speaking about his new job and why he decided to choose a new way to job hunt, Alfred said, “The director walked past me when he saw me that morning, but later got in contact through the website Linked In. The company said they were looking for someone with out of the box ideas and so they were keen to get me in.

The job is one I wouldn’t have got if I hadn’t gone to the station that morning, so I advise anyone out there who is in the same position I was to think of more direct ways to speak to employers.’

To do something for a colleague they find creative and someone who thinks out of the box, his colleagues decided to make his first day at work special by printing t-shirts with his photo and wearing it to welcome him.
Pictured centre in the group photo with his new colleagues, Alfred is seen wearing a t-shirt with a photo of him that was used for his CV and published online at the time he was in the news.
